Step into a Consultant-level Junior Architect role in Sydney, where you'll build strong architecture foundations while helping turn complex requirements into clear technical direction.

What will your typical day look like?

Working alongside senior architects, you'll turn business and technical requirements into first-draft solution designs, diagrams and architecture decision records. Using approved templates, curated context and AI tools, you'll support well-defined architecture tasks and build confidence translating ideas into practical design artefacts.

You'll also spend time with client technical subject matter experts, helping facilitate workshops to understand requirements and current-state environments. From there, you'll capture findings, analyse technical information and help move discussions towards clear decisions and actionable outcomes.

A big part of the role is creating traceable outputs that link back to requirements, acceptance criteria and engineering standards. Close collaboration with architects, engineers and delivery teams will give you exposure to the rhythm of architecture work, while you review AI-generated content carefully, keep documentation current, and learn how quality, security and responsible AI standards shape strong design decisions.

About the team

You'll be part of a technology team focused on designing practical, scalable solutions across an AI-assisted software delivery lifecycle. Bringing together architecture, engineering and delivery capability, the team uses structured methods, reusable patterns and responsible AI practices to turn complex requirements into clear technical direction with greater quality and consistency.

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

• Some experience in software delivery, development, engineering or business analysis, with an interest in moving into architecture

• A basic understanding of architecture concepts such as components, interfaces, integration, data and non-functional requirements

• The ability to write clear requirements, acceptance criteria and architecture decisions

• Experience creating diagrams or using modelling approaches to communicate technical design clearly

• Confidence using structured tools, templates and standards to produce consistent work

• A thoughtful approach to using AI tools, including reviewing outputs carefully and knowing when to escalate

• Strong client-facing and people skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively with technical subject matter experts

• Experience contributing to or facilitating structured workshops, documenting current-state environments, analysing information and helping stakeholders move towards clear, practical outcomes
