Deloitte’s AI & Data team is transforming how businesses leverage cloud-native technologies to solve complex challenges in data, machine learning, and AI.  We’re helping client design and implement their Agentic strategy and drive significant productivity changes and create business value. 

As a Director, you will help lead strategic initiatives, drive innovation, and deliver impactful solutions for our clients across the AI & Data lifecycle

 What will your typical day look like?

• Client Advisory & Solution Design: Advise C-suite stakeholders on AI strategy, Generative AI, and modern data platforms. Design integrated solutions that combine strategy, data, technology, and operations.
• Sales & Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities. Lead end-to-end sales cycles, from opportunity identification through to commercial negotiation and close.
• Delivery & Execution: Oversee the successful delivery of AI & Data projects, ensuring on-time, high-quality outcomes. Lead cross-functional teams across data science, marketing technology, and change management.
• Practice & Capability Leadership: Build and scale a high-performing team. Contribute to thought leadership and innovation in AI & Agentic aligned to key business challenges. Mentor and grow emerging leaders and specialists in the practice.

Our AI & Data team comprises more than 500 specialist practitioners across Australia, each of whom are constantly curious and excited about combining their business acumen and technological expertise to create AI and data-centric solutions that help solve complex problems and transform or reinvent our clients’ business.

Our AI & Data team work with public and private sector clients, helping them design and implement world-leading solutions and capabilities. From solving air and ground transport network issues through our industry-first Optimal Reality digital twin solution, to bringing automation capabilities to vaccine rollout programs and helping our clients move to a sustainable world, we are the partner of choice for our clients and our alliance vendors.

We are seeking commercially-minded, client-facing leaders who can turn AI’s potential into business value – and who are credible in front of a C-suite and a delivery team alike. You do not need to be the deepest engineer in the room, but you must be AI-fluent enough – around the Adoptive level of our AI Fluency Rubric – to know what is possible, challenge what is not, and lead with authority.

We are looking for a Director with the following capabilities:

• 12+ years’ experience in consulting, technology, or industry roles related to implementing and leveraging value from Data & AI technologies.
• Proven track record in selling and delivering large-scale, Data & AI programs
• Deep understanding of cloud and AI technologies and platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Anthropic, etc)
• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technical capabilities to commercial outcomes.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams in a consulting or matrixed environment.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Passion for innovation, emerging technology, and creating measurable value for clients.
