Join Deloitte's Engineering Practice in Australia and help clients design, build and scale modern cloud platforms, AI solutions and engineering capabilities on AWS.

What will your typical day look like?

From architecture through to delivery, you'll lead teams building cloud and AI solutions on AWS for major organisations across Australia. That could mean shaping secure platform foundations, guiding cloud-native engineering decisions, or helping clients solve complex technology challenges with practical, scalable solutions.

In one engagement, you might be designing multi-account AWS environments using Control Tower or Landing Zone Accelerator. In another, you could be standing up Bedrock agents, designing RAG architectures, or reviewing code and AI-assisted outputs to make sure they're secure, maintainable and production-ready.

Working closely with clients, engineers and cross-functional teams, you'll translate business needs into technical direction and delivery outcomes. You'll also help strengthen Deloitte's broader engineering capability through mentoring, reusable assets, and contributions to our AWS, cloud and AI offerings.

About the team

Deloitte's Engineering Practice sits at the intersection of Cloud, Engineering and AI. The team helps organisations solve complex business challenges through modern platforms, cloud-native development and AI-powered solutions, spanning large-scale cloud transformations through to next-generation AI initiatives. It's a practice built on strong technical judgement, practical engineering, and a shared focus on creating resilient, valuable outcomes for clients.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

  • 6-10 years' experience in AWS cloud engineering, solution architecture or technical leadership roles

  • Proven experience leading teams and delivering complex cloud or AI-enabled solutions in client-facing environments

  • Strong AWS architecture capability, including secure and scalable platform design aligned to the AWS Well-Architected Framework

  • Hands-on experience with AWS Control Tower, Landing Zone Accelerator, Terraform or CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines, and container platforms such as EKS or ECS

  • Experience with Amazon Bedrock, including agents, knowledge bases and guardrails, plus an understanding of RAG architecture and LLM integration in production systems

  • Sound judgement when using AI-assisted SDLC tooling such as Amazon Q or GitHub Copilot, including the ability to verify outputs for security, correctness and production readiness

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a genuine interest in mentoring others and uplifting engineering standards

  • AWS certifications across architecture, DevOps, security or AI disciplines would be highly regarded
