What will your typical day look like?
As part of Deloitte Payroll and reporting to the Payroll Operations Manager, you will contribute to payroll processing compliance, adherence to policies, Fair Work conditions, other regulatory requirements and Deloitte standards across all payroll systems and processes.
Team leaders are Key Subject Matter Experts in payroll operations and are responsible for the overall accuracy and timely completion of operational transactions and reporting for pay cycles. You will manage a team of up to 6 employees.
Day to day, your responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the overall accuracy and timely completion of operational transactions and reporting for pay cycles.
- Supervise and oversee all activities within their team.
- Coaching, people development and conflict management.
- Driving a standard process with the view of “best practice” across processes and systems.
- Look for system automation opportunities and work with others to implement those improvements.
About the team
Meet the National Finance team - a multidisciplinary team of accounting and technical experts that keep the company running. The payroll team is an important part of National Finance. This diverse group of 23 specialists is based in our Western Sydney office at Parramatta.

You are someone with:
- Minimum five years payroll experience in end-to-end Australian payroll processing, statutory payments, reconciliations, and year-end reporting.
- Experience in leading and managing a team.
- Experience working in a high-volume payroll environment with more than 5,000 salaried employees.
- Excellent organisational skills and planning
- Have an excellent work ethic and lead by example.
- High attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Solid intermediate Excel skills and strong computer skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer service focus
