Payroll Compliance Manager

Date:  17 Aug 2026
Location:

Western Sydney, NSW, AU

Department:  Enabling Areas
Description:
  • Lead Deloitte's payroll compliance framework across a complex national environment, shaping policy, controls and pay accuracy at scale.
  • Thrive in an innovative, collaborative people culture
  • Mentoring, coaching and leadership programs to help you make an impact that matters

This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll leader to join our National Finance team in Parramatta and help strengthen compliance, accuracy and continuous improvement across a large, complex payroll environment.

What will your typical day look like?

In this role, you'll oversee and enhance Deloitte's payroll compliance framework across systems, processes and reporting. That includes keeping pace with changes in payroll legislation, reviewing controls, and making sure payroll practices align with legal, regulatory and Deloitte requirements. You'll also lead audits, manage compliance reporting, and work through issues that need careful judgement and technical depth.

A big part of your impact will come from improving how payroll compliance operates at scale. From BAS reconciliations and single touch payroll through to general ledger alignment and payroll record keeping, you'll help ensure pay is accurate, risks are identified early, and processes stand up to scrutiny. Your work will support confidence across the business and help resolve employee concerns promptly and effectively.

Alongside the technical work, you'll lead and develop a team of specialists while partnering closely with stakeholders across Talent, Employee Relations, Group Accounts and Deloitte's employment tax advisers. The role offers a strong mix of leadership, problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration, with plenty of scope to recommend better ways of working and lift capability across the payroll function.

About the team

The National Finance team brings together accounting and technical specialists who support the firm's core administrative and financial operations. Within that, Payroll plays a critical role in delivering accurate, compliant payroll services across Deloitte. Based in our Western Sydney office at Parramatta, this team works across payroll operations, reporting and governance, helping keep the business running smoothly behind the scenes.
