What will your typical day look like?
As a Client Manager in our Global Investment and Innovation Incentives (Gi3) team, you will play a key role in managing client relationships and delivering high-quality R&D Tax Incentive claims a spectrum of clients, from cutting edge start-ups to ASX listed and large Multinational clients.
You will act as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of clients, working across a diverse range of industries. You’ll lead end-to-end engagements, from project scoping and client interviews through to reviewing technical documentation, overseeing financial analyses, and supporting audit defence activities.
In this role, you will:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, becoming a go-to advisor on innovation incentives
- Lead and review the preparation of R&D Tax Incentive claims
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure high-quality outcomes
- Coach and mentor junior team members, supporting their development
- Contribute to business development initiatives and identify opportunities to expand client engagements
You’ll work closely with client technical, finance, and tax teams, as well as internal specialists, to deliver impactful, commercially focused outcomes.
About the team
Our c service line in Australia is part of a global network of over 450 practitioners. Locally, our team brings together PhD-qualified scientists, engineers, technologists, chartered accountants, and lawyers.
We help clients unlock investment in innovation by identifying and securing government incentives. This includes understanding complex R&D activities, aligning them with relevant programs, and supporting clients through the application and compliance process.
We operate in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. As part of our growing team, you’ll work on cutting-edge innovation projects and help shape the future of our clients’ businesses.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You are someone with:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Science, Engineering, Commerce, Law, or a related field (postgraduate qualifications highly regarded)
- 4+ years’ experience in R&D Tax Incentives, grants, or innovation advisory
- Strong client management experience, with the ability to build credibility and trust with senior stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distil complex technical concepts
- Experience reviewing or preparing technical documentation (e.g. reports, whitepapers, or claims)
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and strong commercial acumen
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities
A collaborative approach, with experience mentoring or leading junior team members
