We have an opportunity for an experienced Workplace, Health and Safety professional to join Deloitte’s Talent team as a WHS Specialist. You’ll be part of a collaborative and people-focused environment, working closely with stakeholders across the business to help drive key WHS priorities, strengthen risk management practices, manage workers compensation claims and support a safe, healthy and inclusive workplace.
What will your typical day look like?
As our WHS Specialist, you will report to the Senior WHS Manager in a highly flexible team, where your team will be working closely with the broader business and talent teams to help educate, guide, and support them with compliance, hazard management, incident investigations and workers compensation matters. Your role will assist in ensuring consistent processes and procedures are implemented nationally to support positive physical and psychosocial wellbeing. You will compile reports on the firm WHS key metrics and assist with worker's compensation policies and claims management, working in tandem with Return-to-Work Coordinators.
You will be agile, approachable, and pragmatic in your interactions with our diverse stakeholders. Empathy, flexibility, and resilience are keys to success in this role.

You are someone who has experience with the ability to generate innovative ideas, question the status quo, work across teams and deliver effectively against challenging objectives.
- Advanced stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust.
- Proactive learning and problem-solving approach, with capacity to work autonomously.
- High levels of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel functions
- Solid understanding of the WHS legislative frameworks including psychosocial risks management
- Knowledge of Workers Compensation legislation & practices
- Strong ability to develop and drive governance processes including audits, risk and incident management and continuous process improvement
- A collaborative and consultative approach
- The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
