The Vacationer Program is a paid summer internship for 6 weeks, offering real client exposure, project work, and structured onboarding. You’ll have a dedicated buddy, access to networking and social events, and the opportunity to be considered for an early Graduate offer.

About the team 

Controls – Business Risk 

Working across a broad range of clients and industries, including some of Australia’s largest and most complex organisations, our Controls Assurance  teams deploy their risk, internal controls, and culture expertise to strengthen our clients' control frameworks through pragmatic, risk-based solutions.  Our services include controls transformation, internal audit, risk culture, third-party assurance, and risk management solutions.  

 

Controls - Technology Risk 

Operating as part of a global team, we are a leader in the Australian market, focused on helping our clients manage their technology risks through the delivery of technology assurance, IT internal audit and technology controls advisory projects.   We are committed to helping our clients strengthen their IT governance, technology risk, and IT controls, which are critical to protecting brand and stakeholder value. 

 

What will your typical day look like? 

Every day you’ll build your skills and knowledge through practical, hands-on experience.  You’ll work alongside professionals who are experts in their field, contribute to real client projects, and build your capability through feedback and support.

As a Vacationer in the Controls Assurance team, you’ll:  

  • Get exposure working on real engagements and projects
  • Engage with top-tier clients across a broad range of industries and sectors
  • Work alongside the wider team to advise clients on business/tech risk, including risk management, internal audit and controls transformation

 

You won’t be expected to know everything from day one. You’ll be supported through structured learning, feedback and collaboration.

We’re seeking applications from penultimate-year students to join our Vacationer program. You may have all or some of the following:

  • Curiosity and a genuine interest in learning
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Interest in advisory work and stakeholder engagement
  • Confidence to ask questions and learn through feedback
  • Alignment with Deloitte’s values and inclusive culture
  • Controls Business Risk - you’ll be studying towards a relevant degree in Commerce, Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Psychology, Management, Law, AI, STEM
  • Controls Technology Risk - you'll be studying a relevant degree in Computer Science, IT or Business Information Systems in combination with Accounting/Finance
