What will your typical day look like? 

You will work closely with delivery stakeholders to shape the automation strategy, scope and approach for each engagement. From there, you will assess the client context and architecture, choose the right tools and frameworks, and design automation solutions that are reusable, maintainable and built to scale. 

You will lead a team of 5+ automation testers, setting clear direction, mentoring team members and maintaining high quality standards. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed automation into CI/CD pipelines, measure automation effectiveness and ROI, and spot opportunities to use AI-driven and agentic AI approaches to improve testing outcomes across engagements. 

 

About the team 

This role sits within Deloitte’s Cloud and Engineering Practice, which helps clients unlock the value of transformational technologies to solve complex challenges. You will join a team with deep engineering, delivery and advisory capability, known for collaborative problem-solving, strong coaching and a culture that genuinely enjoys working together. 

Enough about us, let's talk about you. You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences: 

  • Experience defining automation strategies for different project and client contexts 

  • Strong background selecting automation tools and frameworks based on architecture and scalability 

  • Experience building automation frameworks from scratch across UI, API or hybrid testing 

  • Strong understanding of test architecture, design patterns and maintainability principles 

  • Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Karate, UiPath, Tricentis Tosca or similar tools 

  • Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps 

  • Strong coding skills in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript or Python 

  • Leadership experience managing and mentoring teams of 5+ automation engineers 

  • Ability to define governance, standards and best practices for automation delivery 

  • Experience measuring automation ROI and reporting meaningful outcomes to stakeholders
