About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team. This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain hands on experience in system administration, troubleshooting and infrastructure management.

About the team

This role will be a part of Deloitte’s Security Operations Centre (SOC), maintaining the internal infrastructure required to deliver our business to our clients.

Ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of industry experience, a solid understanding of the TCP/IP stack, and familiarity with enterprise IT architecture. This role will involve working with both Azure and AWS platforms to manage and maintain our company's IT infrastructure. To be eligible you must be an Australian citizen who is eligible to gain clearance. Some of the other key responsibilities are listed below:

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Build and manage infrastructure using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Patching: Regularly update and patch systems to ensure security and stability.
• Onboarding/Offboarding: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access during employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Monitoring and Support: Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Automation: Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine tasks.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of systems and procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members to support various projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1-2 years of industry experience in a similar role. 
• Technical Skills:
  • General networking knowledge (TCP/IP stack, Firewall Rules,  Routing, etc)
  • Understanding of enterprise IT architecture.
  • Experience with both Azure and AWS platforms.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Defender suite is desired.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
