Deloitte’s AI & Data team is transforming how businesses leverage cloud-native technologies to solve complex challenges in data, machine learning, and AI. As a Director, you will lead strategic initiatives, drive innovation, and deliver impactful solutions for our clients. 

 

As a senior member of the team, you will work with C-suite clients to advise on customer strategy, lead the development of AI-powered decisioning platforms, and oversee transformation initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes. You will also play a critical role in business developmentpractice leadership, and building high-performing teams

 

 

What will your typical day look like? 

 

Client Advisory, Architecture & Solution Design

  • Advise CxO stakeholders on data & AI strategy, architecture, personalisation, and AI adoption.
  • Define enterprise data, AI, and decisioning architectures across cloud platforms (Snowflakes, AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Shape AI-enabled decisioning roadmaps across acquisition, engagement, retention, and service.
  • Design end-to-end solutions spanning architecture, data platforms, integration, and operating models.

 

Sales and Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across key industries (e.g., financial services, retail, insurance).
  • Lead end-to-end sales cycles, from opportunity identification through to commercial negotiation and close.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.

 

Delivery and Execution

  • Oversee delivery of large-scale data platforms and AI solutions, ensuring alignment to architecture principles.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across data engineering, architecture, data science, and transformation.
  • Ensure platforms are scalable, secure, governed, and aligned to enterprise architecture standards.
  • Support clients in operationalising architectures and embedding continuous optimisation.

 

Practice and Capability Leadership

  • Build and scale a high-performing AI & Data Engineering and Architecture capability.
  • Drive thought leadership in modern data architectures, AI platforms, and decisioning ecosystems.
  • Mentor and grow emerging leaders and specialists in the practice.

Our AI & Data team comprises over 500 specialists across Australia, partnering with clients in both public and private sectors to deliver cutting-edge solutions. We partner with leading platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Snowflake, and Databricks, designing and delivering modern, cloud-native data and AI architectures.

We are looking for a Specialist Director with the following capabilities:

  • 12+ years’ experience across consulting, technology, or industry roles in Data, AI, and Architecture.
  • Proven expertise in enterprise data and AI architecture, including lakehouse, streaming, and real-time patterns.
  • Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data ecosystems (Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Proven track record in selling and delivering large-scale, Data & AI programs.
  • Ability to translate architecture and engineering decisions into business and commercial outcomes.
  • Strong leadership experience across multi-disciplinary teams in matrixed environments.
  • Exceptional stakeholder and executive communication skills.
  • Passion for innovation, emerging technology, and creating measurable value for clients.
