Senior Systems Engineer

What will your typical day look like? 

The Senior Systems Engineer will play a key role ensuring the efficiency, security, and reliability of the system, collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance, while also staying updated on emerging technologies to drive innovation and improvements.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the central ClearTrack Gen AI and Assets platform including: 

  • Implementation of the central Gen AI and Assets Platform based upon underlying Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems and software.
  • Monitoring system performance and ensuring reliability and availability.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving software, and network issues.
  • Managing system security, including implementing updates and patches.
  • Collaborating with IT and development teams to integrate new technologies.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for system configurations and procedures.
  • Ensuring data backup and disaster recovery processes are in place.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of infrastructure-as-code practices and CI/CD pipelines.

The National Generative AI and Assets team is part of Deloitte’s Strategy, Transformation & Innovation office. It is at the forefront of transforming our largest and most important client service offerings. In addition, you will also be responsible for:

  • Project Delivery: On-time and within-budget completion of system upgrades, implementations, and other projects.
  • Security Compliance: Adherence to security protocols and successful prevention of breaches and vulnerabilities.
  • Documentation Quality: Comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of system configurations and processes.
  • Performance Metrics: Improved system performance and efficiency, including faster processing times and reduced latency.
  • System Uptime: High availability and minimal downtime of systems and networks

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.

You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:

  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience as a Systems Engineer, preferably with a focus on Generative AI
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is preferrable
  • Experience with platform and software development, release management in a mature managed services environment 

Technical Skills:

  • Cloud technologies and platforms such as Azure or Amazon AWS 
  • UNIX/Linux deployment and configuration management 
  • TCP/IP networking, databases, messaging and security 
  • Knowledge of and experience with DevOps tools and techniques, such as Infrastructure as Code and Immutable Infrastructure 
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, ADO, ArgoCD and DevSecOps technologies
  • Experience with writing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Security protocols such as OAuth, SAML or OpenID Connect 
  • Must have an ability to effectively communicate and work with people with a diverse range of skills and experience
