SQL Programmer - Digital Tax

What will your typical day look like?  

You will play an important role in building the data framework for the tax function of the future whilst delivering client solutions in our market leading Tax technology platform. You will apply analytical and core programming techniques to achieve project outcomes.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You are someone with:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or other quantitative disciplines
  • Expert level SQL programmer with 5+ years of experience preferably in financial services
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of MS SQL Server and its programming language
  • Experience in working with large datasets (10M+ Rows) and multi-tenanted databases
  • Ability to understand the business context driving the programming need


And Deep technical skills in:

  • Data acquisition and transformation while maintaining data lineage.
  • T-SQL Programming and SQL Programming to create stored procedures and triggers, validating, profiling, hashing data, and performance tuning SQL queries.
  • Using SQL for data manipulation of XML and JSON structured objects.
  • Configuring and programming SQL CLR, SQL-R, ML Services, SSAS and Full Text Search.


Also, good working knowledge of:

  • Cloud platforms such as Azure/AWS and ability to configure and program Azure SQL
  • Knowledge of data warehousing methodologies
  • Experience in visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau
  • Configuring SSIS Packages and SQL Jobs for data transfer
  • MS SQL server setup and administration, including:
    • Backup and Restore
    • Script Databases
