Director - Audit and Assurance Quality & Risk

Do you want to work with an intellectually curious team of Audit and Assurance quality and risk professionals, working to improve quality and protect our brand with clients each day?


What will your typical day look like?

The Audit & Assurance Quality & Risk (AAQR) team is a national, team that supports audit and assurance practitioners.  We are seeking to grow our team and are looking for individuals to:


  • support us with our portfolio management – including monitoring developments that may impact on individual clients or the portfolio more broadly
  • assist with agreeing terms and conditions for engagements
  • monitor developments locally and internationally so we can assess the impact they may have on our audits
  • support engagement delivery
  • responding to consultations on professional standards or risk related matters
  • input into and preparation of submissions in response to regulatory and professional standard exposure drafts
  • support the implementation of the ERF for the audit and assurance practice
  • work with colleagues in other Asia Pacific geographies.


About the team
We are an experienced, agile and cohesive team that are focused on audit quality and managing risk in the business, through being trusted advisors to the business. We deliver the technology and content-enablers to provide learning and support material to lead the monitoring programs.

Enough about us let's talk about you
We are looking for someone with:


  • CA qualifications (or similar) with 10+ years professional services or other relevant experience in the quality and risk domain.
  • A keen “risk-sensing” radar and an ability to think critically with a questioning mindset. You take responsibility and develop solutions at all stages of the risk life cycle.
  • Strong commercial awareness of developments at both the macro (national, regional, global) and micro (specific engagements) level relating to risk impact on the Deloitte A&A service line.
  • Experience in a role within audit quality risk management is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • An ability to effectively manage competing priorities and complete tasks/projects in a timely manner and to a high standard.
  • A strong influencer across all levels able to operate with a high degree of empathy with your stakeholders.
  • A desire to continually improve and be part of the change, rather than reacting to it.
