Job Requisition ID: 41950

Senior Consultant | Oracle Payroll | Sydney

  • Join a team delivering end-to-end managed payroll services across complex enterprise environments, with hands-on exposure to Oracle EBS, integrations, compliance reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Thrive in an innovative, collaborative people culture
  • Reimbursements for professional development and subsidised qualifications

Step into a Senior Payroll Officer role where your technical payroll expertise, stakeholder care and eye for detail will help clients run accurate, compliant and reliable payroll operations.

What will your typical day look like?

Much of your time will be spent running end-to-end payroll processing across validation, balancing, reconciliations and finalisation activities. That includes checking outcomes across costing, banking, superannuation, payroll tax and general ledger requirements, while supporting reporting obligations like STP, month-end and year-end.

Working through payroll exceptions and complex issues, you'll investigate discrepancies, analyse unexpected results and get to the root cause of what’s gone wrong. From there, you’ll partner with functional and technical specialists to resolve issues, strengthen controls and improve the way payroll is delivered.

This is a role with plenty of variety and connection. Alongside day-to-day processing, you’ll respond to queries from client stakeholders, HR and Finance teams, contribute to audit and compliance activities, support patch and enhancement testing, and help maintain SOPs and knowledge artefacts that keep the service running smoothly.

About the team

The Deloitte Payroll as a Service team delivers specialised managed services across leading HR, payroll and workforce management platforms including SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle and Kronos. It’s a team focused on helping clients run payroll with confidence - combining technical system knowledge, legislative compliance and responsive service to support complex workforce environments.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

  • 3+ years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing, ideally using Oracle EBS or another major payroll platform
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, statutory obligations, payroll tax, superannuation and STP reporting
  • Experience processing complex payrolls, including reconciliations, balancing, award interpretation and termination calculations
  • Confidence managing payroll queries and stakeholder communication across HR, Finance, payroll teams and clients
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes and support sustainable solutions
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines, work to SLAs and maintain quality in a client-focused delivery environment
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, plus experience with SOPs, process documentation or knowledge articles
  • Nice to have: experience with Oracle HR and payroll integrations, audit and controls, ticketing tools, or onshore and offshore delivery models
