We are seeking professionals to join our Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) practice, engaging in project work with government and private sector clients to support organisations protect their people at work, navigate complex HSW requirements, and create sustainable improvements in HSW performance.  

 

In addition to our bespoke HSW capabilities, our team is an integral part of our broader Sustainability and Modern Work services, offering holistic Social Sustainability, Organisational Trust and Culture, Legal Compliance and Human Capital initiatives to our clients. 

 

Job Description: 

This full-time position is be based in Sydney with a minimum of two days per week required in the office working with your team. The role offers wide-ranging professional experience covering local, regional and national projects across all industry sectors, with the potential for international engagements. 

This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your technical skills and networks, while gaining exposure to a range of high profile and complex HSW issues.  

As a client facing HSW professional you will work within teams to collaborate and apply original thought, playing an integral role in designing and developing solutions for our clients including: 

  • Designing and implementing HSW strategies, management systems, performance and reporting frameworks  

  • Profiling and mitigation of physical and psychosocial risks 

  • Conducting audit and assurance of HSW practices 

  • Supporting the identification and implementation of HSW technology solutions 

  • Embedding proactive leadership and culture 

 

Your quest for knowledge and continuous learning, along with your strong communication and relationship building skills position you as a trusted advisor with your clients. You are known for your genuine interest in health, safety and/or wellbeing and psychosocial risk and possess strong communication skills and an ability to execute under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 

 

This role involves navigating through complex scenarios with a degree of ambiguity and requires resilience and adaptability. Key Responsibilities: 

Under the direction of Project Managers: 

  • Drive workstreams and work with other staff to deliver HSW projects with various clients across industry sectors. 

  • Develop and maintain project plans and status reports 

  • Develop and implement HSW strategies and management systems 

  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits 

  • Engage in analytics, risk profiling, and benchmarking 

  • Support safety culture, leadership, and change initiatives 

  • Support the development of tender responses aligned with client requirements and company capabilities 

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.   
You are someone with:  

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health and safety, occupational hygiene, engineering, environmental or health sciences (e.g., organisational psychology), or similar are desirable 

  • A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent 

  • Auditing qualifications and or experience in ISO 45001 and ISO 45003 

  • 3-5 years of experience in HSW consulting or operational HSW management  

  • The ability to prioritise, plan and deliver simultaneous projects 

  • Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, regulations, and management systems 

  • Knowledge of the psychosocial risk legislative landscape is desirable but not essential 

  • The ability to travel including interstate and internationally from time to time as required.
