About the team

We know that Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) are a huge deal for businesses, so whether the focus is on growth through acquisitions or increasing shareholder value through strategic divestments, we support clients from start to finish. Across the M&A lifecycle, data and AI are now among the largest sources of value, risk, and complexity in any transaction, reshaping how targets are assessed, separated, and integrated.

Our M&A Data & AI team helps clients navigate this complexity, bringing a dedicated focus to one of Australia's largest and most active M&A practices.

Working across the full deal lifecycle, you will assess AI maturity, data quality and data risk on buy-side and sell-side engagements, deliver board-level data and AI health checks, and support post-acquisition value creation and portfolio monitoring. You will also operate as a dedicated Data & AI workstream within broader integration and divestiture engagements, building insight into a client's data and operations to uncover transformation opportunities from the outset.

Looking ahead, you will help define an emerging frontier in how data assets, models, and AI-native capabilities are valued, separated, and integrated as part of a deal structure.

What will your typical day look like? 

As a Senior Consultant, you will focus on the advice, management, and delivery of key project outcomes, while contributing to the growth of the M&A Data & AI practice. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing AI maturity, data quality, and data risk on buy-side and sell-side engagements, and delivering board level data and AI health checks
• Supporting post-acquisition value creation and portfolio monitoring for acquired or divested assets
• Translating complex data and AI findings into clear, actionable insights on key risks, value drivers, and priorities
• Building a clear picture of a client's data and operations early in an integration or divestiture engagement, and carrying that insight from diligence into a dedicated Data & AI delivery workstream
• Supporting business development activities, contributing to proposals, points of view, and client discussions
• Helping build the tools, methodology, and ways of working that will scale this offering across the wider M&A practice
• Coaching junior team members and contributing to a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture
• Building trusted relationships with client stakeholders and working effectively across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated outcomes
• Contributing to practice development initiatives, including capability building, knowledge sharing and internal team activities
• Managing workstreams on complex engagements and taking ownership of deliverables in fast-paced client environments

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.

You may have all or some of the following skills / experience:

• 3 to 5 years' experience in AI, data and analytics, or technology consulting, ideally with some exposure to due diligence or M&A environments
• Strong understanding of AI and data ecosystems, cloud data platforms, AI/ML solutions, MLOps/AI infrastructure, governance, and enterprise platforms
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess AI maturity, data quality, and risk, and translate technical findings into clear commercial implications
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, supported by sound judgement and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders
• The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and stay productive in complex, fast-moving environments
• Experience leading small teams or streams of work and supporting the development of junior team members
• Experience applying relevant methodologies, frameworks, standards and tools
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with experience working directly with client stakeholders
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with experience developing polished deliverables for senior and client audiences
• A commitment to professional confidentiality across engagements
• A willingness to travel to client locations as required
