We are looking for a passionate, self-motivated and driven individual to join the team and contribute to the Conduct Q&R function.
This role offers location flexibility and can be based anywhere in Australia.
What will your typical day look like?
In this role, you will play a key part in safeguarding the firm’s reputation and client relationships, applying sound judgment and risk-based thinking to complex conduct, regulatory and reputational matters.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Conduct, you will provide specialist advice to internal stakeholders on key reputation and regulatory risk issues, including anti-bribery and corruption, third-party business relationships and complaints handling.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the resolution of complex and escalated conduct, compliance, and due diligence matters, providing clear recommendations and risk-based advice to senior stakeholders;
- Partnering with client facing teams and internal risk specialists to provide practical, commercially informed advice on ethical, regulatory and reputational issues;
- Assessing, prioritising and responding to high-risk queries and consultation requests, ensuring timely, appropriate and well-reasoned outcomes;
- Supporting the review and management of external complaints, contributing to fair, consistent and defensible resolutions;
- Collaborating with global and Asia Pacific colleagues on monitoring and assurance activities that impact the Australian firm; and
- Contributing to broader conduct, governance, and risk initiatives, including continuous improvement of frameworks, guidance, and ways of working.
About the team
You’ll join the Conduct team as part of the Quality & Risk community, a collaborative group that provides critical support to enable the Firm’s partners and staff comply with their obligations across key risk domains, including AML, sanctions, trade controls, business relationships, anti-bribery and corruption, modern slavery and reputational risk.
The Australian Conduct team is part of an Asia Pacific Member Firm, and we encourage collaboration with colleagues across the Asia Pacific region.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
Ideally, you will have 3+ years’ experience in one or more of the following areas, gained within financial services, professional services, or other comparable roles:
- Client, engagement and third party due diligence;
- Risk, compliance or conduct-related roles;
- Policy or risk frameworks development; or
- Control design and development.
Experience in financial crime (AML/CTF, sanctions, trade controls, anti-bribery and corruption), financial services regulation (including AFSL), or modern slavery would be advantageous.
Additionally, you will:
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing;
- Understand complex issues and exercise sound judgement, including appropriately escalating matters to senior team members;
- Have strong conceptual, analytical and critical thinking skills, including interpreting and applying regulatory and policy obligations;
- Collaborate effectively with other professionals across Deloitte and contribute as a strong team player;
- Be proactive, positive and risk aware in your approach;
- Confidently manage stakeholder relationships and demonstrate a strong client service ethos; and
- Work independently, prioritise competing demands, and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
