As a multi-disciplinary team of experts, we cover a variety of niche specialities including Sustainability, Climate Change, Work Health and Safety and Risk Culture.     

 

About the team

The Sustainability and Climate Change team develops, monitors, assures, and reports on climate and sustainability strategies that address key stakeholders' social, ethical, environmental and other extra-financial needs. Our service areas include social and environmental sustainability, human rights, social impact, shared value, climate adaptation, strategy, reporting and performance management.

 

What will your typical day look like?

  • Analyse effects of water, air quality and climate change towards organisations and communities, including ensuring integrity of environmental data as well as understanding climate risks and opportunities, in order to formulate short-and long-term management objectives
  • Propose solutions, including decarbonisation roadmaps and pollution control measures, to address negative environmental impacts among carbon-intensive organisations
  • Coordinate environmental management planning by engaging with key stakeholders while providing information such as water quality data, carbon inventories and analysis of social license to operate
  • Work as part of a team with private and public sector organisations, including government departments and agencies, to improve sustainability outcomes 
  • Support clients with management of organisation-wide environmental commitments such as Climate Active Carbon Neutral Certification, National Pollutant Inventory, industry standards and sustainability reporting
  • Provide assurance services for emissions reporting, in line with National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER), including engagement with key data owners to assess data processes and control measures
  • Assist organisations, including ASX100 companies, to develop and implement sustainability best practices, targets, strategies and plans in order to generate stakeholder value
  • Support and provide technical expertise in decarbonisation projects such as conducting climate change research and risk assessments, identifying Scope 3 emission strategy, creating net zero roadmap and facilitating stakeholder engagements with clients across a range of complex sectors
  • Help clients identify Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) opportunities by performing benchmarks, peer assessments and provide input into the development of sustainability governance models
  • Conduct audits to ensure integrity of environmental data, including water and greenhouse gas data, as well as social performance such as safety and community contribution data
  • Utilise stakeholder analysis and risk sensing tools to perform horizon scanning of potential risks and opportunities related to sustainability and climate change
  • Provide input into the development of impact measurement frameworks and improvement plans to uplift our clients’ corporate responsibility capability 
  • Being able to work, manage time, and prioritise within a portfolio of client work 
  • Assist with business development such as conducting industry research, reviewing existing procedures and preparing proposals
  • Build authentic and trusted relationships with our clients and the team

You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (degree in business, environment, sustainability, arts, law, economics or accounting is highly regarded)  
  • Practical knowledge from 3+ years of experience working in a consulting or sustainability role  
  • Strong abilities to conduct and complex business analysis using appropriate tools and technologies  
  • Broad interest in all aspects of corporate responsibility and sustainability 
  • Understanding the client’s business, interpret sector trends, and learn leading practices  
  • Understanding how business functions operate and how industry trends influence a client’s business 
  • Ability to effectively interact with colleagues and clients of varying backgrounds to serve clients with distinction A

The minimum salary requirement for this role is $87,000 inclusive of the minimum superannuation contribution.
