Date:  18 May 2026
Location:

Sydney, NSW, AU

Department:  Technology & Transformation
Description:

Job Requisition ID: 41156

  • Help modernise and stabilise client's core Finance non-SAP applications while shaping the AI and data roadmap for future operations.
  • Tackle big issues like cyber, trust, resilience and digital transformation
  • Thrive in an innovative, collaborative people culture

This is a Consultant level opportunity based in Sydney with a hybrid work model, where you'll support business-critical Finance applications for an insurance client while helping shape smarter, more data-driven operations.

What will your typical day look like?

This role combines hands-on application support with continuous improvement across a complex Finance technology landscape. You'll manage incidents, problems, changes and service requests across non-SAP applications, using tools like ServiceNow or Jira to keep delivery on track and aligned to agreed SLAs. Alongside day-to-day support, you'll also contribute to enhancements, legal and regulatory updates, and root cause analysis that improves long-term stability.

Working closely with Finance and IT stakeholders, you'll help translate operational, regulatory and business changes into practical technology outcomes. That could mean supporting Java and JavaScript-based applications deployed on IBM WebSphere, investigating issues across SQL Server, SSIS or DB2, or acting as an onshore escalation point for more complex technical matters. The work directly supports critical finance processes, so reliability, judgement and clear communication matter.

Variety comes from the mix of client engagement, cross-border teamwork and innovation work. You'll collaborate with colleagues across Australia, India and global delivery centres, mentor junior team members, and contribute to AI-led automation, service optimisation and reporting that gives leaders better visibility over performance and risk.

About the team

You'll also be part of a team looking ahead - using automation, analytics and AI to improve service performance and shape how operated application environments evolve over time.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server, including strong SSIS & SSRS capability
  • Experience using GitHub for source code management
  • Solid application support experience across enterprise systems built on Java and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Spring, Hibernate, STRUTS, DB2, ZK framework or OpenSymphony workflow engine
  • Experience deploying or supporting applications on IBM WebSphere Application Server v8
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management
  • Confidence working with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira in large, distributed delivery environments
  • Exposure to insurance, financial services, or regulated back-office application landscapes such as PCI or PRS
