About the team

In our Operations Transformation practice we focus on addressing the issues that keep COOs and senior executives awake at night. We start right at the top, helping our clients implement their strategic vision with a clearly articulated business case, target operating model design and robust implementation plan.  We get under the bonnet of every layer of an organisation, from improving citizen experience to the performance of the organisation, optimising day to day operations and service delivery.  We also specialise in setting up and running large-scale, complex transformations, designing and implementing best-in-class portfolio and program management to ensure successful delivery and execution of significant programs of work for both states and the nation.

Our team collaborates with senior leaders across Federal and State government, who are faced daily with shifting stakeholder expectations and regulatory obligations, requiring them to transform their operations to improve processes, optimise their organisational structures and lower costs.  We support government agencies and regulators to meet their responsibilities and serve the citizens of NSW and Australia.

We specialise in turning strategies into measurable and sustainable results. Our clients face complex challenges that range from transformation in response to societal demands through to disruption from technological advances that drive them to rethink citizen experience and make the efficiencies that can be gained from the way they run their operations using the tech that can support them.  Our team is growing rapidly in response to the need for critical thinkers who can solve complex problems and who want to work in purpose-led, change-making projects which make a real difference.

About the role

As a Senior Manager in our Operations Transformation practice, you will be a key leader in delivering high-profile transformation programs and managing complex portfolios of work for public sector and government clients. You will:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of major programs and projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, and to the highest quality.
  • Partner with senior client stakeholders to understand their priorities, provide strategic delivery advice, and guide them through change.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of program structures, governance models, and performance measurement approaches.
  • Manage multidisciplinary Deloitte teams and client resources, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
  • Support Directors and Partners in growing client relationships and identifying opportunities for future engagements.
  • Coach and develop junior team members, building capability across project management, delivery disciplines, and client engagement.

You will also leverage the latest AI-powered tools, automation platforms, and data analytics to drive efficiencies, enhance client outcomes, and support digital transformation initiatives. You’ll champion the adoption of emerging technologies in program management and operational delivery, ensuring our clients benefit from innovation in the age of AI.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and enjoys taking ownership of delivery outcomes while working closely with senior leaders.

About your Experience

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Strong program and project delivery experience within a Tier 1 consulting firm, boutique consultancy, or senior internal transformation role.
  • A strong background in public sector, government, or regulated industries.
  • Proven track record in portfolio/program management, PMO leadership, and delivering large-scale, complex initiatives.
  • Experience managing senior client relationships and working with diverse stakeholder groups to achieve outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to turn complex challenges into clear, actionable delivery plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage at senior levels.
  • Experience in business process improvement, operating model design, or transformation delivery will be highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with AI, automation, and digital tools in program delivery and transformation contexts is highly desirable.
