We are seeking a talented Operations & Business Transformation Consultant based in Sydney. This is a permanent role that will support you in growing your career, working across a number of exciting client projects and an opportunity to be part of a market-leading team.

 

 

What will your typical day look like?  

 

Deloitte’s Operations, Industry & Domain Solutions (OI&DS) team is seeking an Operations & Business Transformation consultant with a strong background in Financial Services to drive end-to-end transformation programmes for our clients.

 

This role will see you:

 

  • Engage directly with high profile banking and insurance clients, addressing their most critical operational challenges by delivering whole-of-business transformation
  • Partner with clients on their transformation journey, turning strategic direction into reality by leveraging innovative technology to deliver tangible business value
  • Define and lead the implementation of optimal operating models, aligning processes, teams, capabilities and technology to exceed customer expectations and achieve business goals
  • Improve business performance by identifying process improvement opportunities and providing data-driven solutions that eliminate inefficiencies and enable optimised workflows
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define objectives, manage deliverables, and ensure successful outcomes through the application of best-in-class delivery methodologies
  • Manage and mentor project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement across all levels
  • Support business development activities, including identifying new opportunities, contributing to proposals and expanding client relationships 

 

 

About the team 

 

Deloitte’s Tech and Transformation client service team supports leading executives both in Australia and internationally who are faced with the requirement to transform operations, increase productivity, reduce costs and maximise workforce and asset efficiency, utilising innovative technology in order to remain competitive in a highly regulated environment.

 

We advise, design, implement and run programs that address our clients’ most complex business challenges. We engage directly with CxOs responsible for driving transformation, efficiency, effectiveness and scalability across their operations. Our practice specialises in blending business expertise with technology capabilities and sector-specific knowledge to deliver on strategic outcomes, with measurable and sustained results.

 

Our team is growing rapidly, and we are on the lookout for critical thinkers who can solve complex business problems and thrive in dynamic, collaborative environments.


You will report directly to the Partners / Directors in Tech & Transformation and work with Operations, Industry and Domain Solutions team who prioritise client success. 

 

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.

 

You may have all or some of the following skills/experience:

  • Curiosity, a passion for driving tangible results, and a proven track record of working ‘through the lifecycle’ (i.e. business case through to implementation)
  • At least 6 years of experience in a consulting role at a leading professional services firm or an FSI organisation
  • Experience working within or consulting for the Banking and/or Insurance sectors 
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, and delivering client-focused results 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders effectively  
  • A strong understanding and experience in applying a combination of the following: 
    • Complex program and change management, including different delivery methodologies 
    • Process mapping and optimisation  
    • Target Operating Model design and implementation 
    • Business analysis and data-driven decision-making
