We are seeking a highly experienced solution architect to join Deloitte’s Asia Pacific Operate Centre of Excellence. This is a permanent role with flexible location options across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. You’ll be joining a newly formed, high-impact program helping clients transform how they operate and maintain their technology and business services. What will your typical day look like?  

• Your day-to-day will be diverse but richly rewarding. The Value Technical Architect will support sales & service efforts working closely with various business units to close large deals. This is a client facing role working across the business on a variety of different activities, including: 

1. Moder Operate Architecture Leadership & Subject Matter Expertise 

• Provide strategic leadership for the Modern Operate across the organisational tech functions, defining, governing and validating the architectural principles, standards, frameworks, and reusable design patterns to drive consistency and compliance. 

• Champion continuous improvement by identifying and addressing root causes of architectural and operational inefficiencies and driving the adoption of emerging technologies where applicable. 

• Develop  end-to-end architecture roadmaps, including current, transition, and target states ensuring alignment with future of Operate enterprise strategy, scalability, and supportability underlining continuous improvement mindset 

• Lead architectural decision-making through structured design reviews and enforce architectural guardrails to ensure alignment with business goals and operational constraints. 

• Act as a subject matter expert across legacy and cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), ERP platforms, integration technologies, and security domains including IAM, SSO, encryption, high availability, and disaster recovery. 

2. Strategic Solution Design & Integration across Industry sectors 

• Lead the design and integration of enterprise-scale solutions across complex landscapes, including hyperscalers, data platforms, ERP systems, and SaaS ecosystems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, ServiceNow, Salesforce). 

• Ensure early and effective embedding of Operate considerations into the solution lifecycle to deliver scalable, stable, and supportable architectures. 

• Align architectural design with both short-term delivery requirements and long-term IT and business strategies. 

3. Digital First and Future Vision of Operate Model Design  

• Define and validate support and sustainment models, covering SLAs, monitoring, incident and problem management, performance optimization, and user experience considerations. 

• Collaborate with delivery, service, and operations teams to ensure solutions are operationally sound, cost-effective, and capable of being supported at scale. 

• Embed compliance, auditability, and risk management considerations into operational models. 

4. Sales & Solutioning Support 

• Act as a trusted advisor to pursuit teams, supporting pre-sales activities including architecture scoping, solution shaping, and program planning. 

• Facilitate client workshops to capture requirements, shape architecture decisions, and define defensible assumptions for cost and effort models. 

• Contribute to proposal responses by ensuring the architecture and technology components are accurate, scalable, and aligned with delivery capabilities with AI first approach 

5. Delivery Enablement & Reusability 

• Develop and maintain standardised architectural playbooks, reusable components, and solution accelerators to ensure repeatable, efficient, and compliant delivery. 

• Support delivery teams as the architectural lead, ensuring continuity from pre-sales solution design through to implementation and steady-state operations. 

• Provide ongoing architectural oversight during delivery to manage scope, mitigate risks, and ensure adherence to design principles.

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:  

• Strong time management skills; ability to work independently under pressure, and on multiple assignments while maintaining top quality deliverables. 

• Experience selling and managing large transformational projects at strategic accounts 

• Experience in influencing, consulting and optimizing someone who worked closely with product owners to ensure that the final product aligns with business goals, delivering tangible value. 

• Value outcome orientation eg not just cost out but could be experience improvement, growth enablement, working capital improvement  

• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles to stakeholders.  

• Experience in the software development lifecycle, web development, cloud technologies and data engineering. 

• Strong knowledge in software engineering, with experience working with cross-functional teams in designing and delivering end-to-end solution architecture. 

• Motivated, energetic, and self‐directed.  

• Strong attention to detail and multitasking.  

• Strong analytical skills; ability to analyse and connect data sets and draw insights. 

• Capable of building effective working relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple business areas, functions, and geographies. 

• Ability to travel within Asia Pacific region as per client requirements 

• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to different cultures, time zones, and work practices, adjusting communication and approach accordingly.
