What will your typical day look like?

As part of this Global Technology Services Tech Architecture team, this operational and engineering role will be critical to ensure the high availability of our WAN infrastructure. This infrastructure will enable our workforce to consume resources in our regional delivery centres and cloud exchanges as well as enable private cross-border communications. You will enable tools and automation to gain end to end visibility of our network to assure our practitioner’s experience is best in class and allow for maximum productivity and quality. The team will respond to fault and degradation issues as well as drive forward architectural initiatives through tightly controlled change management processes. We’ll also strive to tune, automate and simplify legacy architectures to assure we can scale with agility.

This is a High-achieving team of Network and Logistics SMEs from 1st year graduates thru to senior engineers. Candid and open dialogue, promoting fun while learning or saving the day. This role requires self-motivation and the ability to thrive as a virtual team member. The network team is a mainstay of the overarching ITS Infrastructure group, Also working from Sydney/Melbourne, are senior Infrastructure engineers, notably, Infrastructure architect, a key resource with deep networking skills. The team is responsible for all aspects of managing and future proofing the network for an enterprise. The en masse transition to working from home was seamless for our business and practitioners. Innovation is ingrained in our ways of working.


Enough about us, let’s talk about you. 

You’ll have the following:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Network Engineer working in large global enterprise

  • Bachelors or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or in a related field; as well as possession of comparable certifications in networking and network security

  • Collaborate with fellow subject matter experts to develop business architecture roadmaps.

  • Help build a network-as-a-service (NaaS) delivery model to ensure resilience and scalable Global WAN delivery.

  • Engineering and operational support of WAN connectivity including MPLS, E-LAN, IPsec and SASE solutions to enable migration of application and services into regional delivery hubs and cloud environments.

  • Help identify tools, create or streamline processes to enable network Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  • Support global data center shutdowns as the firm transitions into a centralized delivery model for critical infrastructure and applications.

  • Enable secure connectivity into Global Cloud Platforms (GCPs) over private and Internet transports via strategic Cloud Exchange points of presence.

  • Support deployment of IPv6 dual-stack capabilities into the global network and natively where possible.

  • Help mature our regional LIR (Local Internet Registry) capabilities as members of ARIN, RIPE, APNIC, LACNIC and AFRINC and formalize as a centralized service.

  • Support our IT of the future strategy as we pull together global cross-functional experts and create a COE (Center of Excellence).

  • Keep our dynamic network topology maps up to date leveraging investments in Netbrain.

  • Support deployment of secure network analytics tools for enhanced network visibility.

  • Support telecommunication deployments and activations into our production networks.

  • Sharp investigating abilities.

  • Capacity to work independently.
