About the Team 

The Deloitte Climate and Sustainability team works with industry and governments to help them navigate climate change in an uncertain environment.  Our diverse team realise opportunities as the economy transforms to net zero by advising on new policies, strategic approaches, disruptive technologies and innovative commercial models.  Our team prides itself on assisting clients through analytical rigour and strong industry knowledge.

We are a diverse team, from economists, engineers, government and regulatory specialists, commercial and business advisers, and modellers who provide strategic, yet pragmatic, advice. We have deep industry knowledge, global networks and are driven by the impact we can make.

 

Some examples of projects successfully delivered include: 
•    Modelling the National Electricity Market under a wide range of future scenarios to inform of risks, opportunities or policy impacts on sector participants
•    Supporting large scale merger and acquisition activities in the National Electricity Market 
•    Providing critical input into investment decision making for industry and government for National Electricity Market projects and policies
•    Advising National Electricity Market participants on revenue and commercial contracting structures and opportunities

 

Among all, electricity market modelling and market insights have been key areas of expertise for enabling quantitative analysis and evidence-based advice for our clients in line with their energy transition objectives. This role will require you to take a leadership role within our market modelling team and drive and develop its capabilities and modelling approaches.

We are looking for a leader with a passion and drive to be the leading voice on the transition of the National Electricity Market and present the following attributes:

  • Have 10+ years of relevant National Electricity Market experience and exposure preferably demonstrated within a consulting, industry or government environment
  • Have deep experience in energy market modelling using models such as PLEXOS and/or built bespoke models using optimisation platforms such as GAMS.
  • You have experience in leading teams to develop and deliver innovative solutions to complex problems  
  • You can demonstrate a proven track record of successful business development skills through new and existing relationships and leading the preparation of compelling proposals aligned with client requirements
  • Have experience working collaboratively within teams to develop and deliver innovative solutions to complex problems
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, business, economics or a related technical field.
