We’re looking for a Consultant Microsoft Security Engineer to join our Managed Detection and Response (MDR) team.
This is an entry‑level role suited to someone with a background in engineering or computer science who is interested in building a career in cyber security. You’ll support the day‑to‑day operation of our Microsoft security platforms, handle BAU service tickets, and work closely with senior engineers as you build your skills.
What will your typical day look like?
- Support the day‑to‑day operation of Microsoft Sentinel and Defender
- Triage and resolve BAU tickets related to log ingestion, connectors, and platform health
- Assist with onboarding new log sources and validating data
- Perform routine health checks and escalate complex issues when required
- Support SOC teams by helping maintain a stable and reliable platform
- Update documentation, runbooks, and simple process improvements
- Learn from and assist senior engineers with more complex engineering work
About the team
You’ll be part of a small, collaborative engineering team that supports a large SOC and a wide range of clients, including government and enterprise organisations.

- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security, or a related field
- Interest in cyber security, cloud platforms, and security engineering
- Comfortable learning new tools and working in a technical environment
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Communicates clearly and works well in a team
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure or security tools (e.g. Sentinel, Defender)
- University projects, internships, or part‑time work in IT or security
- Basic understanding of SIEM or SOC concepts
