About the Team

 

Our M&A Advisory team works directly with shareholders, founders and C-suite executives throughout the entire M&A lifecycle to deliver advice on every aspect of a transaction, from initial valuation guidance, through financial and strategic analysis, to finding and negotiating with the right counterparties. We do this across a wide range of transactions including acquisitions, divestments, recapitalisations and capital raisings.

 

We execute some of Australia’s most interesting transactions across entrepreneur-backed and family-owned businesses, private equity, and corporate Australia. Within the broader team we are a group of TMT specialists.

 

What will your typical day look like?

 

You will work directly with market-leading M&A advisors to support with:

  • Deal execution for international and national corporations, emerging companies, private businesses and private equity firms, across a range of industries: healthcare, consumer business, technology, financial services, manufacturing, etc.
  • Oversee the structuring and delivery of deal and business development documents: strategy papers, information memoranda, management presentations, valuation analysis, purchaser co-ordination, client/bidder/stakeholder communications
  • Review of client’s financial reports: balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements
  • Identify any potential financial or transaction risks
  • Undertake market research and screening, including benchmarking analysis on operating metrics, historical and forecast growth rates and other financial metrics
  • Develop an appropriate range of comparable company financial ratios, including multiples, and transaction analysis
  • End-to-end project management of transactions including direct liaison with Boards/vendors/bidders and other stakeholders
  • Support or lead various marketing and thought leadership initiatives
  • Mentor and support the development of junior staff

You are someone, who:

  • Has excellent analytical and financial skills to support complex transactions
  • Has good knowledge of the M&A process
  • Has experience with technology-enabled businesses
  • Can structure, draft and manage the finalisation of pitch books and other business development work to win prospective mandates
  • Has a track record of leading project teams to deliver a successful outcome
  • Has advanced MS Office skills and experience with research tools (S&P Capital IQ, etc.)
  • Is collaborative and able to develop enthusiasm and commitment from team members and share knowledge
  • Is good at developing strong and durable client relationships as well as build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues
  • Ideally has an Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Finance, Business, Accounting or Engineering
