What will your typical day look like?

In this role, you will primarily focus on working with a diverse range of corporate clients and various top-tier government clients. Working with a team of specialists to provide advice on: 

• Financial risk management solutions, including market risk (foreign exchange and interest rate), commodity risk, liquidity risk, funding and refinancing risks, and counterparty credit risk 

• Treasury strategy, operating model and transformation support 

• Cash management, transactional banking tenders, payments improvements (including merchant acquiring) and working capital optimisation 

• Treasury technology, including dealing, settlement, cash management and risk management systems 

• Leveraging AI to drive efficiencies and better business outcomes 

• Outsourced treasury services 

• Board policy and the related risk and performance reporting 

• Governance, modelling and controls 

• Operational risk management support for treasury and investment functions 

• Energy and commodity sector on financial risk management and emerging ESG risk management. 

About the team  

Deloitte’s specialist Treasury and Risk team consists of professionals across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and provides our banking, government and corporate clients with service offerings through both advisory and audit channels. 

It delivers high-impact advisory and specialist internal audit work across financial risk management, treasury, investments and working capital optimisation. We bring a practical, evidence-based approach to uncovering key risk issues and providing clear, actionable recommendations for complex clients.

Whilst the role is primarily advisory-focused, you will also contribute to advisory projects and selected internal audit engagements with leading organisations. Our people gain exposure across all our service offerings, and we invest heavily in training, tools and innovative methodologies to help you deliver real value and grow your expertise.

Enough about us, let's talk about you. 

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences: 

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in one or more of banking, corporate treasury, capital markets or investment areas 

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or a related field would be valuable 

• Confidence to oversee risk and quantitative projects and back your findings and recommendations with evidence from a range of relevant sources 

• Experience communicating with stakeholders and the capability to create insightful reports and presentations and deliver / co-deliver to executives and public company board meetings
