An opportunity exists to become a key team member in a growing investment consulting team, providing independent investment advice to a range of institutional investors.

 

What will your typical day look like?

We undertake a broad range of investment consulting services to clients. We aim to provide independent and tailored investment insights to our clients, covering the full breadth of a typical investment process. The role includes:

  • Conducting investment due diligence reviews on investment managers, asset consultants, implemented consultants (OCIOs) and other internal investment teams.
  • Supporting clients with the selection of investment service providers through competitive RFP exercises.
  • Asset allocation reviews using proprietary stochastic analysis tools. On a related note, you will part of the team responsible for setting capital market assumptions on a quarterly basis.
  • Independent investment performance analysis including performance attribution.
  • Investment governance support including helping clients to define their investment beliefs and broader investment policy and governance framework.
  • Investment risk management reviews and advice.
  • Operational due diligence reviews of investment managers and other third-party service providers.  Providing clients with detailed reporting identifying operational risks and guidance on mitigating operational risks. 
  • Ongoing investment market research and the drafting of regular investment market updates.
  • Provide training and support to junior team members on due diligence methodologies and best practices.

 

 

About the team

Deloitte’s Investment & Superannuation Advisory team is part of the Strategy, Risk & Transactions business in Australia.  The team is recognised for providing a full range of advisory services to superannuation funds and other institutional investors. The investment offering includes investment consulting, operational due diligence, operating model design and investment technology advice and implementation services.

 

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.

You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in investment consulting, wealth advisory or investment management performing similar tasks.
  • Strong analytical abilities to scrutinise investment opportunities, teams and strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective report writing and stakeholder interactions.
  • An interest in investment markets and the macroeconomic environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and to lead, inspire and mentor junior team members.
  • Strong time management skills enabling prioritisation of work without supervision.
  • CFA or equivalent qualification (part-qualified).
  • Experience working stochastic asset allocation models and economic scenario generators would be well regarded.
