About the Team

 

Our ECA team delivers strategic and commercial advice across the energy and climate spectrum. We assist clients with:

 

  • Decarbonisation strategies and roadmaps
  • Renewable project development (greenfield and brownfield)
  • Financial modelling, project finance, and investment analysis
  • Market entry and commercialisation strategies
  • Mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and accessing public/private funding sources

 

We often integrate with other Deloitte capabilities—such as strategy, due diligence, and operational advisory—to provide a comprehensive approach that meets and exceeds client needs.

 

What You’ll Do

 

As a Manager, you will:

 

  • Lead Engagements: Oversee the delivery of complex energy and climate advisory projects, ensuring quality outputs, timely delivery, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their unique challenges, presenting clear, actionable recommendations and guiding them through strategic decision-making.
  • Analytical Rigor: Develop and review financial models, investment analyses, and commercial frameworks—optimising capital structures, evaluating government incentives, and identifying key market opportunities.
  • Mentorship and Development: Coach and guide junior team members, fostering a positive learning environment and contributing to their professional growth.
  • Market Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships within the energy market, stay ahead of regulatory changes, and identify new business opportunities.

 

 Your Day-to-Day

 

  • Oversee day-to-day project delivery, ensuring analytical accuracy and actionable insights.
  • Engage directly with clients, Directors, and Partners to manage complex transaction elements, review capital structuring options, and interpret energy market dynamics.
  • Prepare high-quality deliverables—reports, presentations, financial models—that communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Participate in business development activities, including proposals, thought leadership events, and client workshops.
  • Cultivate a path to leadership within the firm, advancing your career toward industry leadership roles.

 

About You

 

You are a motivated and experienced professional with a background in energy markets, finance, or related fields. You demonstrate:

 

  • Analytical Excellence: Strong structured thinking and attention to detail for complex financial, technical, and commercial analysis.
  • Energy Market Insight: Experience in energy markets and exposure to the National Electricity Market or the Wholesale Electricity Market.
  • Financial Expertise: Experience in any of the big 4 in the context of renewable energy and the energy transition across project finance, corporate finance, transactions, energy advisory, infrastructure advisory and strategy would be highly valued. Familiarity with financial due diligence, corporate finance, and project finance principles, especially in the context of renewable energy.
  • Communication & Leadership: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire teams.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A natural aptitude for tackling complex challenges and delivering innovative solutions.
