About the role
Our Controls & Third-Party Assurance specialist team applies core assurance and accounting techniques to assist our clients in assessing and enhancing their internal controls and operational performance. Due to continued growth, we have exciting opportunities for experienced Managers to join our Controls team in either Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.
You will be joining a high-performing professional team within Deloitte's Audit & Assurance business, focused on specialist control reviews and assurance reporting, primarily across financial services organisations. This includes leading control reviews over third party service providers under ASAE 3402 and GS 007 control assurance reports. Our portfolio of clients includes some of the largest names in Australia and globally.
What will your typical day look like?
- Lead and manage a portfolio of recurring and non-recurring control assurance and advisory engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction.
- Take ownership of client relationships, acting as a key point of contact and trusted advisor across multiple stakeholders.
- Drive the planning, execution and delivery of engagements, including oversight of fieldwork, review of deliverables and managing project timelines and budgets.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and performance management to junior team members, contributing to team development and capability uplift.
- Play a key role in business development activities, including identifying opportunities, supporting proposals and expanding client engagements.
- Contribute to the growth of the Controls Assurance practice, including development of new service offerings in the evolving third-party risk landscape.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:
- You will possess 5+ years’ experience, ideally within a Professional Services environment (external audit, internal audit or controls advisory), with demonstrated experience operating at a senior level.
- Financial Services Industry experience will be highly regarded, particularly exposure to ASAE 3402 and GS 007 control assurance engagements.
- Proven experience leading controls-based engagements, including external audit, internal audit and third-party assurance reviews.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior client stakeholders and build long-term relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Commercial acumen with experience contributing to business development and identifying growth opportunities.
- Experience in the wealth management industry including fund managers, superannuation funds, administrators, registry providers and custodians is preferred but not essential.
