We are looking for a highly motivated Manager to work alongside our team of innovation strategists, strategic designers, product managers and climate experts to identify emerging opportunities and develop innovative, breakthrough climate solutions and ventures.



About the Team


The Deloitte Climate and Sustainability Team works with the Senior Executives, CEOs and Boards of leading corporations and start-ups, leading the global response to the climate transition. Working with clients, and not for them, we bring together multi-disciplinary teams of experienced innovators, entrepreneurs, strategists and climate and sustainability specialists to develop, launch and scale new solutions and ventures.


The Innovation & Ventures team within Deloitte Climate and Sustainability develop innovation strategies, design, build and commercialise new solutions and ventures, and help our clients to build innovation capability to transform and respond to the climate transition.


Operating as a low-leverage team environment, our Deloitte Climate and Sustainability practitioners work alongside Partners and senior members of the Firm, providing fast-paced, continuous learning and development opportunities.

What will your typical day look like?


As a Manager in the Deloitte Climate and Sustainability Team, you will balance the roles of innovator, entrepreneur, and strategist, in leading multi-disciplinary teams to build sustainable green future solutions.


Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:


  • Collaborating with a team of strategic designers, product managers and climate technical experts (engineers, scientists, policy experts and economists), to develop and/or accelerate the commercialisation of new sustainability focused solutions and ventures
  • Maintaining fluency in market trends, emerging technologies and start-up deal-flow to identify potential industry disruptions and acceleration opportunities
  • Leading the identification and definition of new solutions and/or ventures, including the business model, customer proposition, competitive positioning, and business plan
  • Building and supporting commercialisation of the solution and/or venture, including definition of the go-to-market strategy, operating model and systems
  • Setting-up the governance structure to track performance and outcomes against a set of defined key performance indicators
  • Ensuring alignment across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Driving strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Supporting client capability development and empowerment to promote confidence in next steps once the project ends and encourage successful independent (client) operation of the solution and/or venture
  • Connecting with internal specialists and subject matter experts across our Global firms who can help support and/or validate the build and delivery of climate transformation projects
  • Managing the project’s financials, proactively identifying and addressing project risks, finalising deliverables and presenting to clients



Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting the growth of the Climate and Sustainability Team, with responsibilities including:


  • Driving market eminence through development of Sustainability and Innovation thought leadership and leading internal firm initiatives
  • Building and maintaining a network of partnerships and strong connections across the Climate Innovation ecosystem
  • Supporting the growth and development of teams, providing coaching to team members



Enough about us, let’s talk about you


As a Manager in the Climate and Sustainability Team, you are entrepreneurially driven, passionate about sustainability, and hungry to work with global players to solve our leading climate challenges.


You will have/bring:


  • A background and/or passion for climate and sustainability, with a strong understanding of trends and concepts, and aptitude for learning about new technologies and solutions.
  • 4-6 years of experience with strategy development, innovation consulting, business planning and/or product management.
  • Experience in a high-pressure start-up environment with exposure to multidisciplinary teams and/or involvement with a top-tier consulting firm.
  • Experience solution and/or venture design and development. Understanding how to take ideas through to commercialisation.
  • An ability to communicate ideas, strategies, and complex concepts in clear and compelling fashion, for both business leaders and technical solution and/or venture building teams.
  • Deep business acumen, exceptional quantitative, analytical, and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including agile ways of working, to scope, design and plan projects
  • Exceptional people skills and strong executive presence, with demonstrated ability of building trust and credibility across stakeholder groups (i.e., senior executive level, business, and technical teams).
  • Demonstrated proven capabilities in leadership, mentoring and management of multi-disciplinary teams to manage a junior team from ambiguous beginnings to meaningful output and enabling team members to thrive.
