What will your typical day look like?  

In this Sydney role, you will engage directly with high profile resource and energy sector clients on their most important and challenging business issues – understanding, planning and delivering their priority capital works projects and operational related problems. You will also:

  • Maintain strong relationships and collaborate with the business and senior executives to support the successful delivery of assigned project(s) objectives and deliverables.
  • Work with and lead a high performing team with a strong commitment to excellence in pursuit of helping our clients drive profitability and performance.
  • Lead and coordinate project workstream delivery with a focus on outcomes and impact, shaping and guiding junior staff.
  • Provide Capital Works Delivery Expertise to support the planning and execution of assigned projects.
  • Proactively pursue client opportunities and deliver proposed solutions to develop a pipeline of work.
  • Develop strong relationships with the existing client base whilst growing the Capital Works network.
  • Draw on Deloitte’s unique capabilities in Structured Problem Solving, Design thinking, Digital, Data Analytics, Deloitte Access Economics, and experience from our global consulting network.
  • Travel regularly, gaining valuable project experience, sharing, and collaborating with onsite project teams and other senior inhouse consultants.

In response to strong client demand for our services, we have a need for an additional Operational Manager level practitioner with extensive Capital Works Delivery experience in energy, resources, and public infrastructure.

 

You are someone with: 

  • Exposure and experience having worked in Asset Intensive industries (preferably Resources and Energy) at senior Line Leadership level, with a strong focus on Capital Works project delivery
  • Strong technical and commercial acumen within project delivery
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams with a passion to develop others as well as self
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build strong relationships with a range of clients
  • Strong and adaptable facilitation and communications skills
  • Experience in the use of structured problem-solving approaches / frameworks
  • Curiosity to learn and proactivity to bring forward ideas
