Ready to do meaningful work with a curious, collaborative and genuinely supportive team? We’re looking for a manager with a strong interest in advisory, control design and assurance, and a willingness to build capability across both technical evaluation and controls. You’ll join a team that values high-quality work, strong relationships, and a sustainable balance between work and life.
What will your typical day look like?
As a Manager in our AI Assurance team, you’ll lead defined workstreams to assess and strengthen AI systems, assess evidence and deliver clear, supportable conclusions. Your day will span AI advisory, assurance and internal audit activities, including control assessment and design, technical evaluation of models, retrieval-augmented generation and agents, and reviews of AI platform and lifecycle controls.
You’ll translate AI, business and control risks into proportionate work programmes and practical control design approaches, work closely with business, risk, technology, data science and engineering stakeholders, and evaluate control design and effectiveness, evidence quality and business impact. You’ll also contribute to regulatory and governance readiness, strengthen our assurance approach, and coach junior team members while managing delivery quality, budgets and timelines.
About the team
AI Assurance sits within our Digital Assurance team in Deloitte’s Audit & Assurance business. We help organisations build confidence in AI systems through advisory, control design, independent evaluation, internal audit, controls assessment, readiness reviews and technical assurance. Our work combines advisory and assurance judgement, risk and controls expertise, data and analytics, and practical experience with production AI systems to help clients make well-supported decisions about whether their AI is reliable, controlled and fit for purpose.
We don’t treat AI assurance as standard IT controls testing, nor as AI implementation. Instead, we translate business and risk questions into proportionate evaluation and control design approaches, assess the strength and limitations of evidence, and communicate confidence clearly.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You are someone who:
- At least 5 years’ experience in AI, data science, advanced analytics, data engineering, technology risk, cloud, cyber controls, technology assurance, technology-focused internal audit, or advisory and control design.
- Professional qualification completed such as CISA, CA or equivalent; IT and business qualifications will be viewed favourably.
- Exposure to AI or model evaluation, statistical testing, experimental design, RAG or agent evaluation, production performance measurement, or control design and uplift.
- Working knowledge of model risk, AI governance and relevant standards or frameworks such as ISO 42001, SOC reporting, ASAE 3150 / 3100, CPS 230 or CPS 234.
- Experience leading advisory, assurance, internal audit, technology risk, controls or comparable multidisciplinary delivery.
- Strong written communication, disciplined documentation and the ability to work confidently across business, risk and technical stakeholders.
- A sharp analytical mindset, strong attention to detail and a track record of delivering high-quality work at pace.
