We are seeking an exceptional Management Accountant to join the National Finance team for 12 months! This an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, contribute to major opportunities, and set Deloitte apart in the market. 

What will your typical day look like?

This is an exciting career opportunity for a career focused consultant to join our Business Finance Partnering team and immerse yourself to make a meaning impact within National Finance.  In this role you’ll provide management reporting, accounting support and contribute to ad hoc project work. You will play a key role in analysing financial performance, identifying trends, highlight opportunities for improvement and collaborate with the wider Business Finance team and leaders to deliver extraordinary results for our stakeholders.

 You will work alongside a talented team, applying your expertise to:

  • Prepare weekly and monthly management reports, analysing performance against plan, forecast, and other key metrics.
  • Support Month-End Close activities, including preparation and review of journals, variance analysis, reconciliations, to ensure timely reporting of results.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual plan, as well as monthly and quarterly forecasting as required.
  • Leverage Excel skills to run reports and dashboards, transforming data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Challenge the status quo by identifying smarter, more efficient ways of working, leveraging technology to streamline processes and improve efficiencies across the team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Business Finance to establish best practices, share knowledge, and drive process improvements.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key Finance and business stakeholders.
  • Work with the Business Finance Lead and the Business Finance Managers to deliver on business needs and the National Finance strategy.

 

About the team 

Deloitte’s National Finance team supports our business growth through smart financial insights. Our highly skilled financial professionals navigate our financial systems and big data. We are a diverse group, operating from multiple locations around Australia.

You will report directly to the Business Finance Lead in Finance Business Partnering and will work across the Business Finance team to support business success for our stakeholders.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.

You may have all or some of the following skills/experience:

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Tertiary qualification in business, finance, accounting, or commerce.
  • Strong commercial accounting skills and financial acumen, with experience in reviewing and analysing results to support strategic decisions.
  • Advanced Excel skills and a passion for data, reporting, and turning insights into actionable outcomes.
  • Experience with SAP or Anaplan would be highly regarded.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and strong time management.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across teams and stakeholders.
  • An innovative mindset and a drive for continuous improvement.
