What will your typical day look like? 

 

The Appian Developer-Manager will be a key member of our Sydney-based Technology & Transformation team and the broader Australian Appian Practice.

 

This role will lead development of Appian based solutions across various industries. You will bring a strong technical background and demonstrated experience of the Appian platform.

 

As a Lead Appian Developer, your primary responsibility will be to develop cutting edge technical solutions fast and autonomously. You will spend 70-80% of your time developing and architecting solutions, and some of your time coaching others and supporting business development activities. You will assist organisations with development and implementation of Appian applications.

 

Your key responsibilities will include

 

•    Fostering a positive team environment focused on advanced technical knowledge, effective collaboration, and positive customer outcomes.
•    Solving highly complex technical problems using Appian and other supporting platforms.
•    Bringing in-depth application development expertise in Appian BPM and experience using Appian connectors and web services
•    Conducting/leading solution/product demonstrations, POC/Proof of Technology workshops and prepare effort estimates that suit the customer budgetary requirements and align with the organization’s financial guidelines.
•    Leading development teams, actively troubleshooting issues and helping team to troubleshoot issues.
•    Conducting research, development, and implementation of new tools to speed up and simplify application development.
•    Managing all project related documentation, training, and tooling so that they are updated, easily accessible and globally reusable.
•    Building relationship and liaising with Appian Customer Success Managers.
•    Coaching others on technical best practices.
•    Assisting with adding top talent to our team by participating in recruiting events and conducting candidate interviews
•    Supporting/leading pre-sales, scoping, and client presentations


Enough about us, let’s talk about you

 

We are seeking professionals who can demonstrate required Appian expertise matched with the following: 

 

•    4-8 years of client-facing experience in analysis, design, development, and application deployment of Appian based applications
•    Working knowledge of relevant automation and low-code trends, standards, practices
•    Understanding of ERP, CRM, BPM/Workflow, Data Integration Architecture or EAI and/or applied knowledge of enterprise architecture, including data management.
•    Experience with Appian custom development (e.g., language -Java)
•    Familiarity with a range of automation and low-code platforms 
•    Experience leading teams and coaching junior staff 
•    Ability to provide insight based on experience on recommended actions. 
•    Industry experience in Financial Services preferred but not required
•    Ability to navigate challenges posed by clients and highlight risks as well as solutions for mitigating risks identified. 
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. 
•    Developer Certification(s) to credentials your Appian experience, along with the motivation to keep learning more
•    Ability to lead multiple engagements concurrently

•    Good interpersonal and communication skills.
