Deloitte Digital is Australia's leading digital consultancy and design studio. Our Customer Strategy and Applied Design team is seeking a curious, committed, and passionate Junior Experiential Designer & Strategist to join our Experiential Design capability.

 

As a Junior Experiential Designer & Strategist at Deloitte Digital, you will undertake a broad role as a Consultant within our consulting practice working alongside a team of multi-disciplinary designers focussed on navigating the future of brand, retail and precinct experiences, defining the branch or store of the future. You will work on client engagements from customer strategy through to experience design, providing strategic recommendations in the role and value of physical experiences and advising on how we might create holistic customer ecosystems.

Within this practice, the Experiential Design capability is a team of designers and strategists who specialise in bringing business objectives, value and brand proposition to life through place-based experiences. We reimagine and redesign how people work, live, play, learn and connect using the 5 senses. We are passionate about the tangible impact physical experiences have on people and are proud to have worked on a number of award winning place based experiences.

 

Your responsibilities:

As an Experiential Design Consultant, you will be considered a safe pair of hands who can deliver solutions to complex problems, to high standards, and on-time.

 

You will need to:

  • Be on the pulse with the latest customer experiences and design trends across all sectors

  • Assist in the creation of assets using human centred design research methodologies including; observational studies, customer interviews, workshops and prototyping

  • Synthesise, summarise and playback forms of qualitative and quantitative research to uncover insights, learn about user behaviour and verify design concepts.

  • Support across engagement management by applying your project management skills in scoping, designing, planning, and implementing projects

  • Take ownership for aspects of deliverables and outcomes, presenting solutions to problems and overcoming project barriers

  • Be excellent at self management, identification of tasks, priorities and need for support from your senior leaders

  • Ability to diagnose a problem, conduct analysis, and develop solutions for client problems

  • Look for opportunities to coach and upskill juniors across projects, collaborating and sharing knowledge for the betterment of each other and client outcome

  • Present elements of deliverables and outcomes to clients, team and Senior leaders with clarity, engagement, and purpose

  • Contribute to the growth of the team and the Experiential Design capability through team events, meetings, templates and sharing of learnings and insights

  • Be inquisitive, in pursuit of patterns and paths; a storyteller, and a story-seeker

  • A lover of business – the rhythms, passions, and dynamics that make it work.

 

Your experience

 

Typically at this level you will have experience :

  • A design agency, consultancy or similar industry-based role providing strategic advisory and design solution to retail, branch, exhibition, or customer ecosystems (minimum 3-5 years)

  • Working with major brands, understanding their brand guidelines, network strategy and business analytics that inform investment in design

  • Co-designing strategic customer experiences for physical environments and integrating channel strategy

  • Working in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams to create holistic design solutions

  • Developing customer personas and building store archetypes based on wants, needs and role of store in customer ecosystem

  • Translating brand stories and users journeys into multi-sensory experiences

  • Creating assets for workshops, interviews and observational research and crafting insights to inform strategic recommendations

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign required), and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook), and other visual communication tools

  • Fluency with digital collaboration tools such as Miro, Mural, Microsoft Teams etc.
