An exciting opportunity to join our National Sales Office (NSO) as a Sales Coach!

 

The NSO provides strategic sales support to the firm’s most important opportunities. Our Sales Coaches are business development experts who can coach pursuit teams and engage end-to-end throughout the services sales cycle. Additionally, the Sales Coach is a champion of Sales Excellence and a key member of the NSO team focused on developing and embedding sales best practises.

 

Sales Coaches are industry aligned and trusted advisors to industry Partners and pursuits teams, guiding the development of opportunities and converting new business. The Sales Coach brings insights and expertise to accelerate deal flow and improve sales outcomes through a mix of sales strategy and value proposition development, stakeholder analysis and engagement planning, pitch/presentation coaching and client engagement. Demonstrated success in influencing strategic sales and complex pursuits is critical.

 

In this role, you may be engaged on more than one pursuit and/or Industry sales initiative at one time, so the ability to quickly assess and understand new opportunities, manage multiple pursuits simultaneously and adapt to fast-changing situations is critical.

 

What will your typical day look like?  

 

  • Operate with a client mindset and work proactively with Industry Leadership to advise on tracking and shaping pipeline, prioritizing and qualifying deals, and bring the best of the Firm to strategic Industry pursuits.
  • Brings strategic intelligence (industry, account, competitor) to deals and shares insights to shape sales practices.
  • Facilitates Win Strategy and Lab sessions to create differentiated sales approaches and ensures methodical execution of sales strategy for the life of the pursuit.
  • Revolutionizes pursuit activities with client-centric content and messaging.
  • Establishes trust with Lead Industry, Pursuit and Engagement Partners and resolves challenges collaboratively.
  • Guides Pursuit Managers in applying pursuit methodology and best practices.
  • Collaborates with the Commercial Office to shape commercial propositions and participation in leadership and pricing reviews.
  • Ensure pursuit teams undertake appropriate Firm governance (e.g. quality reviews for proposal and presentation documents, design approach, and risk reviews).
  • Accountable for end-to-end NSO support for allocated deals.
  • Leads and manages NSO team members on pursuits, including resourcing and performance.
  • Champions sales processes across geographies and embeds sales excellence.
  • Drives continuous improvement and strengthens sales culture through learning initiatives and special projects (e.g., delivery of sales training).

You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:

 

  • Ideally a minimum 10–12 years of experience in Business Advisory / Consulting and complex deal coaching.
  • Deep understanding of the sales process, sales management coaching and leadership and a proven track record of leading winning sales.
  • Experience delivering creative and differentiated sales/pursuit materials and presentations.
  • Proven ability to deliver fast, reliable insights to C-level executives in high-growth environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills; effective with diverse teams.
  • Skilled communicator with experience in presentations and sales training.
  • Proficient in leading large teams and managing multiple time-sensitive commitments.
  • Expert in coaching and leading structured preparation and rehearsal processes.
  • Experienced in stakeholder consensus building at the executive level.
  • Strong understanding of Business Advisory / Consulting offerings (Deloitte experience a plus).
  • Proven conflict resolution skills.
