Deloitte Indirect Tax is comprised of a wonderful mix of energetic personalities and deep expertise in tax. Every single day with the team brings new and exciting challenges as we tackle a range of important indirect tax issues – from GST, Stamp Duty, Customs, Fuel Tax, Luxury Car Tax to Wine Equalisation Tax. At the forefront of indirect tax policy, we frame national conversations around indirect tax and regularly lead litigation. Pretty cool, right?


What will your typical day look like? 


The Indirect Tax group focuses on improving the transactional and trading environment of business. As part of our Indirect Tax team, this role will provide consulting advice and compliance expertise to clients for a wide range of indirect taxes, including goods and services tax (GST), customs and international trade, stamp duty and fuel tax credits. 


As a Senior Analyst within the team, you will;

  • Provide indirect tax advice, compliance and consultancy services across a range of indirect tax matters including M&A, corporate restructuring, property developments, cross border issues and managing ATO reviews and queries.
  • You will act as the primary point of contact for several clients and managing the client ledgers as well as supporting the broader client service team. This role will also see you assist in billing and controlling of Work In Progress, adhering to budget and deadline constraints.

You are someone with:

  • A degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Law and be CA qualified
  • Post-qualification indirect tax experience
  • Experience working in a top-tier or mid-tier accounting or legal firm
  • A high detail focus and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to draw upon corporate and commercial experience to think strategically to achieve the firm’s objectives and build strong relationships.
