Our specialist health and social policy sector experts within Financial Advisory work with health care clients across the public and private sectors to improve health and social outcomes for our community.  In particular, our health experts work within Deloitte Access Economics, and our Infrastructure & Capital Projects practice.

 

We are passionate about making an impact that matters in a sector that is critical to the health and wellbeing for every member of society. 

 

We work across the policy development lifecycle, including:

  • Strategic policy development and analysis, market access analysis

  • Health economics, including pharmaco-economics

  • Cost of illness studies

  • Health service planning, including burden of disease analysis

  • Model of care design

  • Infrastructure planning (including business cases)

  • Financial and operational performance

  • Costing and funding model analysis and development

  • Policy and program evaluation

 

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from people interested in joining our team with skills and experience in any of the above domains – at all levels, and in all major jurisdictions across Australia. 

 

What your typical day might look like?

 

  • Working with our clients to define their problems and design innovative solutions

  • Using data and information to derive critical insights – including consumer-level data, financial and economic information and demand forecasts

  • Stakeholder consultations, including one-on-one, small group and large workshop facilitation with a range of stakeholders (consumers, clinicians, executives, government representatives to name a few)

  • Drafting insightful reports, for both clients and public consumption

  • Contributing to our team culture

  • For more senior positions, project management roles, coaching and leading teams, and business development.

 

Enough about us, let's talk about you

 

You will have: 

  • A passion for health and social care; and an interest and/or experience preferably in the public sector or in a consulting environment with Government clients

  • An interest in the economic, financial and social drivers of government investment, decision-making and policy

  • Experience or interest in applying economic techniques; examples could include cost benefit analysis, economic impact assessment or program evaluation

  • An interest in and understanding of major infrastructure projects and programs, asset management, procurement, and transactions in a health environment (including business cases)

  • Experience working with Excel is essential; some experience with statistical programs such as Stata, python or R would be considered favourably, as would data visualisation or geospatial programs

  • Ability to clearly communicate written analysis in well-structured, evidence-based reports tailored to a variety of audiences including government and/or industry

  • A positive, collaborative and problem-solving approach

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a high performing team

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Economics, Econometrics, Public Policy, Commerce, Law, Finance, Engineering and/or clinical background).

 

We would strongly consider applications from interested candidates with a clinical background, with appropriate experience and/or additional qualifications similar to those outlined above.

 

Precise responsibilities will be determined by your grade and experience. We are searching for candidates from Analyst to Director levels.

 

For more senior positions, you will also have the opportunity to develop our people, help to grow our relationships with existing and new clients and increase our capability and market reach.
