Deloitte Australia is creating a new Head of Purpose role, reporting to the Chief People and Purpose Officer, to bring together our core Purpose agendas – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Social Impact and Indigenous – under a single enterprise leader. 
 
We’re looking for someone with a genuine passion for inclusion, social impact and Indigenous outcomes, and a track record of leading change and delivering meaningful impact at scale. 

What will your typical day look like?

This is a senior leadership role with a clear mandate: to set a compelling firmwide strategy for Purpose and drive a step-change in the impact and outcomes we deliver. You will bring together currently separate programs into one integrated approach – moving from activity to measurable outcomes that shape how we operate, grow and show up for our people, clients and communities. 
 
You will lead a multi-disciplinary team and work closely with the Executive, Business Units and Growth to embed Purpose into the decisions that matter most. This role requires both strategic clarity and strong execution – setting direction, aligning stakeholders and driving momentum across a broad portfolio. 

Your role is to integrate these agendas and translate them into meaningful, measurable impact for the firm and community. You’ll be responsible for:

• Setting and driving a firmwide Purpose strategy with clear priorities, measurable outcomes and strong governance 
• Leading and building a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team across DEI, Social Impact and Indigenous 
• Translating strategy into executable plans and drive delivery across a complex, matrixed organisation 
• Identifying where new approaches, partnerships or investment will accelerate impact 
• Advising the Executive and Board on progress, trade-offs and priorities 
• Embedding Purpose into business decisions, client relationships and brand 
• Aligning stakeholders across Business Units, Growth and People & Purpose to drive momentum

It brings together Social Impact (including Responsible Business, the Reconciliation Action Plan and Deloitte Foundation), Deloitte Forest and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

• Senior leadership experience in social impact, DEI, Indigenous or related domains
• A proven track record of shifting outcomes at scale across a complex, matrixed organisation
• Strong experience setting enterprise-wide strategy and leading execution
• The ability to build, lead and motivate high-performing, multidisciplinary teams
• Strong influence and stakeholder engagement at executive level
• Commercial acumen and the ability to connect Purpose to business and client outcomes
• Strong judgement and analytical rigour, including the ability to establish governance, reporting frameworks and measurable outcomes
• Genuine passion and commitment to inclusion, social impact and Indigenous outcomes
• Digital and AI fluency, with the ability to use data, technology and emerging tools to support insight generation, reporting and decision-making
• An external profile or credibility in Purpose, DEI or social impact
• Experience shaping partnerships, investment decisions and market positioning
