Forward Deployed Engineer and FDE Lead - Anthropic
Sydney, NSW, AU
Job Requisition ID: 41672
Join us as a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, where you'll work closely with strategic clients to turn complex problems into deployed AI solutions that deliver real business impact.
What will your typical day look like?
You'll work directly with clients to unpack their hardest challenges and shape practical paths from idea to implementation. That could mean designing integrations, standing up data pipelines, extending agentic workflows, or guiding a pod toward a production-ready solution built with Anthropic technologies.
Just as important is the leadership you'll bring to the work. You'll set technical direction, mentor engineers through delivery, and help teams make smart trade-offs across architecture, speed and quality. In senior client conversations, you'll be comfortable moving between deep technical detail and clear business language.
Variety is built into the role. Some engagements will call for hands-on coding, others for solution design, stakeholder alignment or delivery coaching. Across it all, you'll be helping clients adopt a more AI-native way of working while keeping the focus on outcomes that are useful, scalable and real.
About the team

The team is still growing, so you'll have real influence over how engagements run, which tools and approaches we back, and how we continue building a low-ego, high-ownership culture. The work spans complex, high-consequence environments across areas like government, financial services and critical infrastructure, where strong engineering and thoughtful AI deployment can make a visible difference.
