What will your typical day look like?

As a Senior Manager within our Financial Services - Real Estate tax team, you will provide M&A, tax advisory and compliance services to a diverse array of ASX listed, institutional, multinational and private clients across the real estate sector including property funds management, development and investment.

Expect every day to be different – assist with a client’s domestic and international fund structuring and acquisition due diligence on one day, and work on complex tax advisory and compliance engagements for a listed diversified property group on another. Be part of a high-performing and growing team that really love what they do, be mentored by some of the best in the field and help shape the future of the industry through involvement in consultation and engagement with the government and the ATO on real estate industry issues.

No two days are the same in the Financial Services tax team – As a driven Senior Manager you will work with a range of large well-known clients, applying your deep knowledge of trusts (including managed investment trusts), stapled groups, cross border investment, financing structures and taxation of corporate groups across the commercial property, living (residential development, hotels, build to rent, student accommodation, senior living etc.), alternative real estate and debt sectors.

We provide a wide range of specialist tax services to an extensive and diverse array of clients – You will provide M&A, investment structuring, tax due diligence (buy and sell side), tax controversy, tax compliance and tax advisory services applying your tax technical and industry knowledge, working closely with other teams across our tax practice locally, nationally and globally as well as with other parts of Deloitte.

• Experience working as an advisor to real estate and funds management clients or as a senior member of a real estate group’s in-house tax function.
• Experience providing M&A, tax advisory and tax compliance services.
• A growth mindset, willing to set stretch goals and challenge yourself and others to be the best.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements or transactions with various stakeholders.
• Interpersonal skills to build and maintain great relationships with clients and the team.
• Demonstrated ability to train, delegate to and support junior team members.
• Strong tax technical skills, ability to solve problems and high attention to detail.
• A client service mentality, enthusiasm and a passion to drive successful outcomes for clients and the team.
