About the team
You will join a team with a focus on supporting large REIT’s across their Funds Finance platforms. This includes investments in real assets across different asset types such as retail, office and industrial. The candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting, distribution, and tax reporting across our clients’ funds platforms. This role offers a unique opportunity to build connections across various business areas and functions while gaining exposure to the leaders in real estate industry in Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Oversee the financial accounting, distribution, and tax reporting for the funds platform, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and investment management agreements.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including annual financial statements, regulatory reports, and tax filings. Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with Fund Managers, Investment Managers, Valuations team, Tax team, and other key stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support.
- Process Optimisation: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the Funds Finance team.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Audit & Compliance: Oversee audit processes and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to the development and execution of finance projects and initiatives to support the overall strategic objectives of the business.
- Offshore Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with the offshore team to achieve seamless operations.

You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:
- At least 5 years experience in fund accounting or financial services with a strong understanding of investment management operations. Proven leadership experience in managing finance teams
- In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, tax regulations, and investment management accounting principles. Real Estate finance experience would be beneficial.
- Ability to analyse complex financial information, identify issues, and make sound decisions.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree or above in accounting/finance or a related field
- Possess a CA/CPA qualification (or similar)
- Strong communication, leadership, project management, and multitasking skills
