An exciting opportunity has become available to join our innovative Finance team in Sydney. This permanent role sits within Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and offers the chance to work closely with senior business leaders, operational teams (both onshore and offshore), and a broad range of finance and IT stakeholders. If you’re passionate about turning data into meaningful business insights, this role offers real impact and visibility across the firm.

What will your typical day look like?

Day to day you will work closely with the Reporting Manager to support the Financial Planning & Analysis team across a mix of core reporting and strategic activities.

You’ll assist in producing accurate and insightful monthly and quarterly financial reports for both local and global stakeholders, while also supporting the firm’s planning and forecasting processes. Alongside regular reporting cycles, you’ll respond to ad hoc requests, analyse performance drivers, and help deliver clear, commercially sound insights that support effective decision-making.

About the team

The FP&A team combines strong commercial acumen with deep business understanding to provide strategic financial advice, management reporting, and accounting support across Deloitte. We are a collaborative, forward-thinking team that partners closely with senior leaders to drive informed business decisions and continuous improvement.

You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:

• 3–5 years’ experience in management accounting, financial reporting, or a similar analyst role

• Strong analytical capability with experience working with large datasets and developing accurate reports

• Ability to interpret business requirements and translate data into clear, insightful reporting

• Solid commercial acumen and ability to analyse financial performance and communicate key drivers

• Advanced Excel skills (including complex formulas, Power Pivot and Power Query)

• Experience with Power BI, Cognos TM1, or Anaplan (highly regarded)

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• A collaborative mindset and ability to build strong relationships across Finance and the broader business

• High levels of professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail
