You’ve started building your career in financial risk, treasury, or superannuation, and you’re ready for broader exposure. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful risk challenges for some of Australia’s largest and most complex superannuation funds, while developing your capability across advisory, assurance, and regulatory-focused engagements.
About the team
Our team sits within Deloitte’s Assurance practice and is growing. We work with superannuation funds and broader financial services organisations on financial risk, treasury, liquidity risk, and market risk matters, helping clients strengthen their frameworks, respond to regulatory change, and make better risk-informed decisions.
This is a newly created role, which means you’ll be joining at an exciting point in the team’s growth. You’ll have the support of experienced leaders around you, while also getting the opportunity to build your skills across a broad range of engagements. The work spans advisory, assurance, and regulatory-focused projects, giving you variety early in your career.
We’re known for our people-centred culture, client-focused approach, and willingness to think differently. We don’t just help clients meet their obligations. We help them get real business value from the work.
What will your typical day look like?
You’ll be contributing to live client work from day one, building your technical capability while developing the judgement and communication skills that matter in advisory.
On any given day, you might be:
- Supporting the delivery of financial risk and treasury solutions, including liquidity risk and market risk engagements
- Working across a range of projects focused on the risks superannuation funds and financial services organisations face
- Helping clients understand and respond to APRA and ASIC regulatory requirements
- Analysing data, identifying trends, and preparing clear insights for client deliverables
- Working closely with senior team members, sharing responsibility, maintaining communication, and keeping engagements moving
- Building your understanding of the market landscape and emerging risk trends affecting superannuation and financial services
- Applying and developing your analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills across varied client engagements
You won’t just be observing from the sidelines. You’ll be part of the team delivering work that helps clients navigate complex risk and regulatory issues with confidence.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You’re analytically strong, curious, and motivated to learn. You may already have some exposure to financial risk or treasury, or you may be earlier in your journey and looking for the right environment to build that capability. Either way, you’re someone who enjoys solving problems, working collaboratively, and building expertise in a fast-moving area of financial services.
You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:
- A degree in finance, economics, actuarial studies, mathematics, engineering, or a related discipline
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a consulting firm, superannuation fund, bank, or broader financial services organisation
- Exposure to, or a strong interest in, financial risk, including liquidity risk and/or market risk
- A basic understanding of the APRA and ASIC regulatory environment, or a strong willingness to learn
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and communicate insights clearly
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced team environment
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with tools such as Excel, SQL, VBA, Python, or R is advantageous but not essential
- Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
