About the Role
Joining our Customer Strategy & Design team as an experience designer you'll be sure to grow and develop your skills as you work alongside industry experts.
As an Experience Design – Senior Consultant, you will be considered a safe pair of hands who can design and deliver on experience strategies that respond to complex customer, employee and citizen needs. You’ll
- be trusted to own and deliver significant stream(s) of work in large engagements by applying your project management skills.
- apply project management skills in scoping, designing and planning for project proposals.
- identify the challenges faced by our clients, potential business improvements and present innovative solutions through an evidence-based approach.
- work in multidisciplinary teams across a variety of subject matters to understand the breadth of customer channels and touchpoints.
- feel comfortable with a non-linear process, comfort in ambiguity, and flexibility to adjust as things shift.
- contribute to a culture of creativity, innovation and leadership with a finger on the pulse of what’s new and possible.
- contribute to the growth and development of our practice by supporting our junior workforce and getting involved in internal leadership initiatives.
You’ll blend the creativity of design with the rigour of consulting practice, leveraging human centred design and strategic thinking to help us:
- design and facilitate measured experiences and research with customers using participatory and iterative design techniques including observational studies, customer interviews, prototyping, and
other forms of qualitative and quantitative research to uncover insights, learn about user behaviour and verify design concepts
- research trends and emerging technologies to understand how they could unlock new value for clients and solve their challenges.
- reimagine the experiences and de-risk investment through design, evidence-based insight.
- making concepts tangible through storytelling and rapid prototyping methods, ranging from paper sketching to prototyping.
About You
As an Experience Design- Senior Consultant, you’ll:
- have 3-5 years’ experience in Consulting, ideally in a leading consulting firm, digital/ design agency or within a public sector / industry equivalent.
- a degree/qualification in design, such as visual design, 3D Object Design, industrial design, sculpture, spatial design, or design for innovation.
- have experience in the strategic design and/or deliver of physical/digital experiences.
- be fluent in human centered design & systems thinking tools, practices and methodologies including personas, archetypes, journey maps, design research and synthesis.
- be a believer in collaboration — to prototype thinking, turn inklings into insights and insights into possibilities, and bring stories to life in ways that move people to take action.
- have experience supporting in the design and facilitation of user workshops, customer testing and stakeholder interviews.
- have an understanding of the digital platforms, tools and systems that enable experience delivery.
- have fluency with digital collaboration tools such as Miro, Mural, Microsoft Teams etc. (Nice to have - fluent in visual communications tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and/or hand-sketching)
- have an understanding of the power and value of great design in bringing the ideas that fuel business to life.
- have experience building, developing and presenting compelling narratives that seek stakeholder endorsement, clearly articulate reason and communicate action.
- be passionate about the impact experiences have on customers, employees, citizens and students and how design can make a positive impact on how people work together.
