About The Team

We know that Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) are a huge deal for businesses, so whether the focus is on shaping sustainable investment strategies, realising value through the implementation of sustainable transformation strategies to drive shareholder (and broader stakeholder) value, or proactively assessing ESG risks as part of due diligence, we support clients from start to finish.

Our ESG M&A Consulting Services team focuses on embedding ESG across the deal cycle - including ESG-led fund and portfolio level strategy development, assessment of deal targets with strategic ESG due diligence, post-transaction implementation of ESG strategy and initiatives, and supporting the articulation of ESG driven value creation upon exit.

If you want to work at the intersection of ESG, strategy and finance, and help private equity firms transition their portfolios to net zero emissions and create value in the face of rising ESG expectations from multiple stakeholder groups, then we are the team for you!


What will your typical day look like?

As a core member of the team, this role will provide you with the opportunity to:

  • Support on ESG due diligence engagements (sell-side / buy-side) for corporate and private equity clients and assist with developing Day-1 readiness plans

  • Contribute to ESG-led strategies, targets and initiatives at the Fund, portfolio company and/or corporate levels to drive value

  • Contribute to advice on growth opportunities along with new products and markets emerging from the uptake in ESG-driven innovation

  • Support on ESG portfolio assessments

  • Through business develop and client work, proactively gains technical expertise across the  following areas, where relevant:

    • ESG regulation and standards

    • Climate risk and opportunity assessments

    • Greenhouse gas emissions measurement and abatement opportunities

    • Sustainable supply chains

    • Environmental and health and safety legislation

    • ESG governance and controls

  • Support the delivery of large-scale ESG-driven transformation activities

  • Support practice and business development activities e.g. through the development of thought leadership material.


Enough About Us, Let’s Talk About You.

You are someone with:

  • Tertiary qualification (Bachelors or Masters) in Sustainability, Commerce, Finance, Engineering and/or Science

  • At least 2 years of professional experience (or equivalent) in at least one the following:

    • M&A / deal lifecycle experience, including ESG due diligence in the context of broader financial and operational transaction due diligence

    • Design, implementation and communication of ESG strategy and/or responsible investment strategy

    • Broader professional services, including management consulting or corporate finance

  • A solid understanding of how investors, regulators and analysts review and use ESG information to inform their decision making

  • An informed understanding of current and emerging ESG issues

  • Familiarity with common ESG Standards and reporting frameworks such as SASB, GRI, TCFD, UNPRI and the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation

  • A desire to support new business opportunities

  • Strong problem solving, business diagnostic and analytical skills

  • Good organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise effectively

  • Experience operating and communicating with senior level stakeholders

  • Good communication skills and an ability to work across multiple clients/projects and drive progress and results.
