This Director opportunity is based in Sydney within Audit & Assurance, focused on Treasury & Capital Markets work that helps clients manage financial risk, strengthen governance and make better strategic decisions.

What will your typical day look like?

You’ll deliver specialised advisory and internal audit services across treasury and capital markets, covering areas like treasury strategy, operating model design, global cash management, liquidity and funding, foreign exchange, interest rate and counterparty credit risk, treasury management systems and transactional banking tenders. The role also includes consulting on governance policies, procedures and internal controls tied to financial market exposures, risk and performance reporting

A big part of the role is helping clients navigate complex decisions and communicate them clearly. That includes contributing practical advice on risk management settings, mergers / acquisitions, capital investment projects, working capital management, cash management and transactional banking, and drafting reports for audit committees, boards and senior leadership teams

At this level, you’ll also supervise and manage key parts of the Treasury & Capital Markets team, support and train team members, manage day-to-day client relationships, and coordinate work across local and international teams on a diverse range of projects for a wide range of clients. Alongside delivery, you’ll keep a close eye on internal forecasting, budget performance, profitability and quality and risk requirements.

About the team

This team sits within Audit & Assurance and works across treasury, capital markets and internal audit engagements for government and corporate clients. Their work spans financial risk management, treasury governance, internal controls, treasury technology, operating models and the use of Gen-AI in treasury functions, giving you the opportunity to work on both strategic and operational challenges that matter to senior decision-makers.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent
• 10+ years of demonstrated experience in banking, treasury and capital markets, investment, or closely related areas
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field
• Strong knowledge of treasury finance, including financial reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards
• Good working knowledge of relevant accounting and audit standards, regulatory issues, and the broader control environment
• Confidence leading quantitative and regulatory projects and backing recommendations with evidence from multiple sources
• Experience communicating with stakeholders and preparing clear reports and presentations for executives and public company boards
• Practical awareness of tax and regulatory issues affecting treasury, plus deep knowledge of corporate governance, policies and internal controls
