The Climate Change and Sustainability reporting advisory team continues to grow and requires a number of outstanding, innovative and engaging professionals to join the team – that’s where you come in.

The team is privileged to be working on one of the most pressing and topical business and societal issues. Through our services, we help our clients understand, engage with and act on their ESG/sustainability and climate-related risks and opportunities.

 

About our Sustainability & Climate Change team

Our highly diverse and multi-disciplinary team combines deep subject matter expertise, strategic thinking, and data and technology to meet the equally diverse and fast-evolving needs of our clients. Our practice’s experience and expertise spans Sustainability (or “ESG”) Strategy, Impact Measurement, Climate Risk and Reporting across a range local and global standards and frameworks including ISSB, CSRD, ASRS, TNFD and GRI, supporting complex and diverse reporting and advisory client engagements.

 

About our work

As a senior and inspirational member of our team focused on ESG and climate reporting and advisory, you will be working with a variety of blue chip, high-profile clients, helping them clarify and shape what ESG/ sustainability means for their business, respond to stakeholder pressures and expectations, leverage sustainable business models as a source of competitive advantage and embed these strategies to ensure success.  We offer a broad range of services including (but not limited to):

  • ESG reporting advisory across various local and international frameworks and standards
  • ESG strategy development and stress-testing of corporate strategy through an ESG lens
  • Sustainable Finance, nature-based solutions and biodiversity advisory aligned with international frameworks and taxonomies
  • ESG materiality assessments and assurance
  • ESG performance reporting and benchmarking/rating
  • Climate scenario modelling and stress testing, target setting supporting ESG reporting obligations

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.

While this role is for our Sustainability and Climate Change team, we are looking for a professional with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, which can include in-house or consulting roles in strategy, ESG finance and management, and ESG/GHG reporting.

You will provide engaging leadership of teams to enable Deloitte’s ESG/CC&S service offering to grow aligned with our strategy and purpose.

You will have deep subject matter expertise in this field, having worked with diverse clients including financial institutions (PE, banks, asset management, infrastructure, etc.) and/or multinational organizations. You may also have the experience and capability to lead strategic engagements at C-suite/Project/Portfolio fund level.

Your combined structured thinking, subject matter expertise and passion for the field will help shape opportunities, support sales and lead end-to-end project delivery. You will need to:

  • Have strong oral and written communication skills (including presentations, workshopping, facilitation and negotiations);
  • Apply structured problem-solving, technical skills and knowledge to design project approach and lead others in delivery;
  • Be passionate about people development, including coaching and managing teams.  You will have the ability to lead people effectively and build strong rapport and relationships with both our team and client peers;
  • Have a strong track record of business development with experience in developing proposals;
  • Have a robust understanding of the core ESG enablers which support successful ESG reporting and strategy
  • Experience working with other corporates to develop and embed ESG strategies, and ideally, experience transforming business models to be more sustainable;
  • Have a strong knowledge of key ESG/sustainability standards frameworks and schemes including ISSB, ASRS, GRI, SASB, TNFD, GRESB, Climate Bonds Standard; etc

 

Qualifications  

  • A graduate degree in business, engineering, environmental science and/or equivalent relevant subject
